Oh sure, there have been some legendary SEC coaches from Shug Jordan to General Neyland to The Bear, but when the 2008 season kicks off itll be the start of a new era of SEC football. Call it the renaissance or call it everyone keeping up in the arms race, but make no mistake about it, this is the greatest collection of college coaches to ever occupy one league at the same time.
Five of the coaches (Phil Fulmer, Steve Spurrier, Les Miles, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban) have won national titles, Tommy Tuberville did everything but win the national championship in 2004, and Mark Richt has been hanging around the national title ever since he took over at Georgia and has the team to break through this season. Rich Brooks, Houston Nutt, Sylvester Croom and Bobby Johnson are SEC veterans who have all fielded strong teams over the last few seasons.
Forget about the apprenticeships and the grace periods and the old college try, this is an all-star collection with several future hall-of-famers and crusty veterans who know everything there is to know about the SEC. They know all the talent, all the fan bases, and theyve been through all the wars and have survived long enough to still have jobs in the more pressure packed of college conferences.

The SEC of Division 1-AA is the Southern Conference. It’s going to be a good year. App does have some inexperience in the secondary so it’ll be interesting. I just hope for a good game and not a a@@ kicking.
I’m so glad it’s time for these threads to come back. T-3 weeks (almost to the minute) and counting!
Believe you me, I’ve been itching to get them posted. If this season is anything last season...
Not only that but it looks like he’s holding a doughnut, and that’s my team. LOL
Nice touch on Fulmers man boobs as well.
If UGA only loses 1 game like Florida that year, then they should be in the BCS Championship Game. It will also depend on when they lose. Auburn beat Florida in 2006 in mid-October. If UGA loses to Florida in late-October or Auburn in mid-November it could hurt them more. Of course, if things were as wild as last year, all bets are off...
Excellent work! Miles ht is way too small though...love the Saban money bags. Perfect.
I was istening to ESPN radio tonight and they seemed to think that its LSU-Auburn winner playing the Georgia-Forida winner. But they were curious about Mississippi State. They won 8 games last year so it will be interesting to see if they can comnntinue to improve.
I've got a couple of civil war book too. I bought the Doris Goodwin book awhile back and I bought another book called "1958". As soon as I finish up my book on Teddy Roosevelt I'll get started on those civil war books.
Miss St played some very solid defense down the stretch. They could end up being more of a spoiler than anything else IMO. You really have to give some serious credit to Croom for keeping them competitive.
Of course Tony Barnhart said UGA would lose 5 games last year. So there ya go.
Why would you assume that an Ohio State fan would also be a Big Ten fan. Ohio State fan are quite happy when Michigan loses. WE"RE NOT LIKE YOU.
My dad refers to the Southern Baptist Church as the Roman Catholic Church of the South. LOL!
Who is LSU's QB? I read somewhere they had a transfer from Harvard (maybe I heard that wrong) of all places.
THat's one football game I would love to see sometime. I wonder if they would ever consider playing that game in the south sometime.
I heard that future games are in the bidding process now. Who knows.
I know Charlotte did a good job when we played BC a couple of years ago. Wonderful seats to that one !
Yeah. I’ll admit I probably wouldn’t have survived your “trade school”. I visited when I was a senior and it just didn’t feel right for me.
No, Fulmer’s holding a subpoena!!
