My Dragonfly And Me


If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!


By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone


On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...


And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...


Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

My dad served in the Navy in WWII. I’ve heard a lot of the jokes and realize they are all about envy. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. My brother didn’t live long enough to serve but we are still a Navy loving family.

Besides, the Army has been making the Navy look good for as long as I can remember.

I’m an old ex-sailor, sort of crotchety, cranky and a curmudgeon who still rides Harleys, builds three wheel motorcycles,and makes his own wine, and loves to cook. I engineer on a 100 year old steam boat from time to time and write books, (37 books in E-publishing at present and on in the works)and poetry, smoke cigars or a pipe. Was a Mechanical Designer for 12 years, and an R&D Electronics Tech for 16 years, (civilian and military applications.) Good enough bio?
