Let Your Light Shine
by Ellen Bailey

Does the light of your soul still shine?
Is it still a beacon that others can find?
Or does a guilty conscience cover it like a film
Dulling its rays and causing it to look dim?

Do you tell yourself everything is just fine
Ignoring the needs of others as if blind?
What about those who have gone astray?
And those who are lonely and afraid?

Search your heart and see what you find
Ask yourself if you have been unkind
Good deeds alone will not get you into Heaven
Extend a helping hand to your fallen brethren

It will clear your conscience and erase your sins
And the light of your soul will be bright again
Others will look upon you as a beacon of hope
As down life's road they struggle and cope

Hello all thought you might like to see a few photos I took on Friday when I meet a friend who used to be my company's agent in Australia, his son in law runs the company now he has retired.

He had been on a cruise with his his wife and got into Southampton early Friday morning, the cruise line laid on coaches up to the airport but his flight was not until Saturday so he asked if I would like to meet him for lunch and the afternoon on Friday. Of course I was delighted and so pleased he had thought of me. I traveled up to London by train and caught the underground (tube/metro) to T5 and from there caught a bus to his hotel.

We had lunch and then talked all afternoon about old times and caught up on family news etc. Had a coffee about 5.00pm and left the hotel at about 6.15pm.

I got one of the buses back to the airport and caught the underground back to central London. Then walked passed Trafalgar Square back to Charing Cross Station to get a train back to Ashford.

Here are a few photos I took on the walk back.

I Hope Everyone is having a Beautiful Day! I have a Wonderful Video at the Top of my Post; if it Skips at First when you Play it, just Mute it and Let it Play through Once, and after your Computer has 'Seen' it, it should Play without Skipping.

You Put this Love in my Heart

Tell Me The Story
All these things happened to them as examples, and . . . for our admonition. —1 Corinthians 10:11

Now that I have grandkids, I’m back into the classic children’s Bible stories. Wide-eyed stories like David and Goliath, Noah’s ark, and Jonah and the big fish quickly capture a child’s imagination!

But there’s a danger here—not with the stories themselves but rather with our attitude toward them. If we view them simply as kids’ stories, kind of like the Grimm’s Fairy Tales of the Bible, we miss the point.

The stories of the Bible were never meant to be outgrown. There are profound lessons to be learned from the amazing accounts of those who faced giants, floods, and fish!

Hundreds of years after the fact, the apostle Paul explained that the things that happened to Moses and the Israelites as they wandered through the desert “happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition” (1 Cor. 10:11). These stories are about us. They mirror the tensions we face daily as we too seek to apply God’s will and ways to the realities of our lives. They teach us of the treachery of sin, our desperate need to trust God unflinchingly, and the importance of staying faithful and true to Him regardless of what happens.

Don’t ignore the old stories. You might be surprised what God wants to teach you through them.

We learn the blessed Word of God
To fix it firmly in our heart,
And when we act upon that Word
Its truth from us will not depart. —D. De Haan

Stories from the past can give us pointers for the present.

Yes I have seen her before too - a great shot he must have had the camera in his teeth - :)

I just added the music, not sure if it is appropriate as I really could not make out most of the words - little hard of hearing so everyone tells me.

The Blossom

The bud is not the blossom.
It keeps the beauty hid,
Until the warming sunshine,
Lets unfolding start its bid.

And as the color settles,
Like dew upon the limb,
The blossom opens up to show,
The joy that comes from Him,

Who toiled within the garden,
To separate the weeds,
From flowering plants and bushes,
And tended all their needs.

In time, the blossom yields a fruit,
With promised swelling growth,
Full sweetness for the Gardener,
And seeds within for both.
