Don’t sweat it. It’s just an ad hominem argument meant to appeal to the baser sort of knuckle drag liberals.
It does remind me of the time I cut up one of my wife’s bulbs and stuck it in my roast beef sandwich.
It DID look like an onion. But it shore didn’t taste like no onion.

Many of the flowering bulbs are quite poisonous !
I remember reading a book back in high school or jr high called “Daffodils are Dangerous”, it was about all the poisonous (if you ingest!) plants we have in flower gardens.
