Many of the flowering bulbs are quite poisonous !
I remember reading a book back in high school or jr high called “Daffodils are Dangerous”, it was about all the poisonous (if you ingest!) plants we have in flower gardens.

So THAT’s my problem. Sure explains a lot. I bet the coffee in extreme doses helped keep the poison at bay.
