Is it time for Senator Mitch McConnell,Republican Leader - United States Senator for Kentucky,to go?
“And I agree fresh faces would be nice...unfortunately we do not have term limits, and he is still quite preferable over the joker the Democrats have as the opponent.”
Mr. Reid always looked more like an undertaker to me, not a joker. And Democrats think THAT is the face of diversity!
WHY!???????????????????
Call me a “whiner” if you want to, I’m far from being a “purist” though. I do think that McCain is the worst possible candidate that we could have chosen for this most crucial of elections. The party is floating aimlessly right now. No vision. No leadership.
well.....for the most part, your correct....the Louisville Courier-JoURINAL and Lexington Herald (Mis)Leader...both are long time propaganda rags of the (Marxist Socialist) DemocRAT Party...Your very kind, calling them "newspapers"...
Well, after we convince McConnell and the few other republicans with spines that they have no support, why don’t we all get together, hold hands, and throw ourselves out of that 18th floor window? That way, the people who currently run the congress and who might soon run the Administration can continue their record of stellar achievement with no opposition at all, at all?
He’s been doing a great job against bad odds.
He has been in for 6 terms, and he has done a great job while in there. He has only been in the role of leader for 18 months. And guess what? He is doing a great job in that position.
You want to get rid of a good Senator for what reason again?
Term limits would be a disaster to our freedom and liberty. You think it is hard trying to get a majority of 535 idiots to do the right thing?
Try getting tens of thousands of aides, staffers and lobbyists to do the right thing.
That is precisely what you would end up with if you got term limits. It takes years to get used to learn to wield power in DC, and those unelected power brokers would love to have a fresh crop of Representatives and Senators to run roughshod over.
If you think the elected elite are a problem in DC, wait till you give power to the unelected elite.
You don't like your Representative or Senator? Work to unelect them. There is your term limit.
How did Scalia get thrown under the bus?

However, the topic of this thread is Mitch McConnell, not John McCain. While McConnell may be far from perfect, he's done a far better job than most of his predecessors. Especially "Vacant" Lott.
I used to be a stanch supporter of McConnell - then, when they tried to push amnesty through the first time - I wrote him a letter telling him how I felt about it. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one. He sent me a letter back saying - Okay, I heard you & many others like you. He said our voices had been heard loud & clear. He went on to reassure me that he would not be on the side pushing amnesty.
Then, by golly - they tried to do it again! And there was Mitch right out in front! He LIED to me & to the other multitude of voters that voted for him. Right then, I decided it was time for him to go. He is just like the rest of them. Pander to your face & then turn around & do whatever he wants to do. Yeah, he’s effective - that’s part of the problem. He’s part of the government that wants to institute a global economy that destroys American jobs and helps big business hire cheap, third world labor in their place. I have come to realize that he, and others like John McCain are not my friend after all.
I think Mitch needs to stay around for another term at least. We need someone with experience and a semblance of balls to deal with the present and upcoming Congress as it is, Democrat majority.
We Need A liberty Lover like Jack Westwood!
I agree, and I will be voting for McConnel in Nov. He is one of the few in Congress that has brains.
The fresh faces you want are idiots. I had to look at them during the primary and heaven help us if any one of them were running. Kentucky is very short of Republican candidates that could win.
I am actually now looking outside of the Republican party to try to find candidates with brains. They’re few & far between in any party, but since I’ve left the GOP & am now an Independent, the letters next to their names mean nothing to me now.
What the hell are you talking about? McConnell, along with Sessions and DeMint, have been the only ones on the GOP side of the aisle in the Senate to demonstrate that they have the cajones to out Harry reid in his place.
