Electrical-energy-storage unit (EESU) utilizing ceramic and integrated-circuit technologies for replacement of electrochemical batteries
IS THIS A HOAX? IS THIS FOR REAL?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZENN
"The cityZENN is planned to be a fully certified, highway capable vehicle with a top speed of 125 kilometres per hour (78 mph) and a range of 400 kilometres (250 mi). Powered by EEStor, the cityZENN will be rechargeable in less than 5 minutes, feature operating costs 1/10th of a typical internal combustion engine vehicle and be 100% emission-free at the point of use. The Zero Emission, No Noise cityZENN will be designed to meet the transportation requirements of a large percentage of drivers worldwide. [3] It is due to be launched in Fall 2009. Also according to Ian Clifford a normal household outlet with 110 volt supply can fully charge the EESTor powered CityZENN in 4 hours for a 250 miles (400 km) range and a normal household outlet with 220 volt supply can fully charge the EESTor powered CityZENN in 2 hours for a 250 miles (400 km) range. CityZENN target price is around $25000 - $30000.[4]"

The above link is long and dry and very technical. If this is not a hoax, it sounds HUGE! Why is there no media coverage?

heard of this?
The best question is how did Detroit get left out of this one... Every little Ma/Pa store could have its own five-minute charger so that gas stations might ultimately be eliminated but you’d still need the electricity to run America’s motor vehicles and likely have to start building reactors so that dems would still oppose it.
There have been threads here on both the battery and the car. Don't think any were started by me.
Someone wants that $300 million prize money McCain promised for a better battery.
I can’t wait till we try to figure out how to recycle or dispose of all these batteries.
They probably have a small capacitor working. Let’s see them scale it up to the size they need and make is safe.
You didn’t read it all did you? These batteries don’t wear out...EVER!
That’s what they claim anyway.
Also, NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS whatsoever.
Lockhead has signed on for exclusive rights to use the capacitors for military and homeland defense uses.
So...is it a hoax? No. Is it likely to be as they desire, a mass produced easy to use capacitor system that will power the cars of the future? Eh; doubt it from how it looks right now. I’ve never yet seen a company unable to produce a technological example prior to being able to mass produce the same item. Since they won’t produce one for previews (and mind, if Zenn had one of these puppies to demonstrate, orders would be /flying/ to them right now...), my guess is that we’ll see this on Lockhead’s financial statements in ten years.
Bull poopy.
Heck no I didn’t read it. I just respond to headlines : )
Kinda like a perpetual motion machine, huh? I will believe it when they have working vehicles on the street and batteries to demonstrate to the public.
Batteries are all bad.
I am in the test phase of the wind powered car Ive designed. The biggest problem so far is that all bridges crossing the roads are too low. The 150 pedestal and the 75 diameter blades just dont do well with the 16 average bridge. It is also a little top heavy which makes curves very dangerous.
I called Al Gore about this and next week he will announce that we need to rebuild all bridges and raise all utility cables cross roads to 250 in 5 years. And all roads will be in a straight line.
I am also developing a fart powered rocket to put Al Gore on the moon by 2010. Not because its easy but because its necessary.
The patent number does not come up on a search at USPTO.GOV which is the address of US Patent and Trademark office.
It’s the renowned Flux Capacitor
a normal household outlet with 110 volt supply can fully charge the EESTor powered CityZENN in 4 hours for a 250 miles (400 km) range Somebody tell me what's wrong with this math: A "normal household outlet" providing 20 amps at 110 volts gives us a maximum of 2200 watts, which is the equivalent of about 3 horsepower. It takes 4 hours to charge the car, and at 60 mph it takes 4 hours to drive 250 miles, which discharges the car. Therefore during the drive, the motors can provide no more than 3 horsepower. This for $25,000 to $30,000. |
What is the source of electrical power used to recharge these guys?
More like a super capacitor than a battery. This could make all batteries obsolete including the super-heavy batteries guys use for trolling motors.
