Bon Jovi Free Concert Tickets Being Sold Without Permission

Bon Jovi are playing a free concert in New York this weekend, however it seems some ticket holders are selling their "free" entry to desperate fans for as much as $1,500 a pair.

Around 60,000 tickets were given away for free by New York City for the giant concert at Central Park on Saturday 12th July, to celebrate the July 15th All-Star baseball game that will be held at the Yankee Stadium.

According to the New York Post, 267 listings for tickets being sold on eBay were found yesterday (July 7th), despite the tickets being printed with a warning that states they cannot be resold.

Now Kimberly Spell, a spokeswoman for NYC Marketing, says lawyers will be in touch with eBay to solve the situation.

In the land of the free you need permission to sell a gift? What's interesting about this is it's 100% pure envy. There's no extra cost to the city if the tickets are re-sold. They just can't stand to see people make money providing a service to those who weren't there to get free tickets.

And here I thought only Hannah Montana was worth that kind of cash.

Bon Jovi? Weren't they popular for a few months in the 1980s when it seemed like every station in the area tossed their record collections in the trash so they could play Living on a Prayer 24 hours a day?

The ticket confers a license between consenting parties. If the license contains terms saying it cannot be resold, then reselling the ticket violates the license.

The rule for any Jon Anchovi concert is that any man there is involved in some scheme to get sex from his date or try to pick up on the women that are there. Since the audience is usually over 80% women at any Anchovi show, its always fertile hunting grounds. An Anchovi concert is like watching some discovery channel show on animal mating rituals.

Since this is in NYC, ofcourse a certain percentage will just be loud mouth New Jerseities who worship Anchovi as much as they do "Da Boss". They will be the ones in the jeans jackets or leathers with the bands logo on the back and yelling "Bon Jovi!" all night long.

The string attached to the gift is not enforcible in a court of law because there are no damages, although if the city wanted to at great expense they could verify each ticket holders identity for admittance. This is nothing more than institutionalized envy though and they should be shamed for it. Envy is destructive and we shouldn’t tolerate it, especially from a government agency in a free land. We should protect the rights of free citizens to pursue happiness as they see fit. This is wrong and damaging behavior by the city.

So nobody could see something like this coming? lol

$1500 for Bon Jovi? Guess there’s a market out there for everything. You couldn’t give me $1500 to watch aging metro wannabes playing rock stars.

Ugh...don’t remind me. It was a difficult era in music history.

Well there’s at least one reason to be glad to be on the west coast.
