Graphic by Billie
American Castles
Westward where the land is rent
Beneath the azure desert skies
Stand lonely jagged monuments
Like mystic castles to the eyes
They're first to greet the morning sun
And last to see the distant stars
They know how the west was won
It's written in their ancient scars
From native fire in the night
To covered wagon caravan
They watched a nation come to light
God's timeless castles in the sand.

I guess that turnabout is fair play??
The above Welcome Graphic is by MamaBear.
I knew this ..... all my notes said it was by MamaBear, but ......
my fingers insisted it was by Billie.

It was a pleasure to post your poem from 2005. I am happy to see others posting beautiful pictures of the Sedona area.
Thank you for your many contributions.
