Most of the time, the hot weather is bearable but when you need to be out and it is above 105, the heat really does a number on you.

Evenin’ Amy. HOT! tonight. Can’t decide whether to drink a Bud, sample some watermelon or cool down with some ice cream.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Maybe I’ll go for all three.

Good evening, DD

My weather bug says it is 94 degrees. I have every fan in the house on. My A/C is programmed to go off at 10:00 .... may need to turn it on for another hour.

I don’t have any watermelon, not sure about the Bud but I know we have ice cream ..... must be time to raid the refrigerator again.

If we are lucky, this will be our week of extremely hot temps. Every year, we get at least one week .... then the rest of the summer doesn’t seem as bad.

Drink plenty of fluids .... this time of year I drink about 3 bottles of water every day in addition to what ever else I drink.

On Cardi’s post, (#367), I was so impressed with the words (not necessarily the art), that I thought it was worth posting them, for all to savor and contemplate:

The most destructive habit..........worry
The greatest joy..........giving
The greatest loss.........loss of self respect
The most satisfying work.........helping others
The ugliest personality trait..........selfishness
The most endangered species...........dedicated leaders
Our greatest natural resource...........our youth
The greatest shot in the arm.............encouragement
The greatest problem to overcome..........fear
The most effective sleeping pill.........peace of mind
The most crippling failure disease.........excuses
The most powerful force in life.........love
The most dangerous pariah.........a gossiper
The world's most incredible computer.........the brain
The worst thing to be without.............hope
The deadliest weapon..............the tongue
The two most power filled words, “I can”
The greatest asset..........faith
The most worthless emotion...........self pity
The most beautiful attire..........a SMILE
The most prized possession.........integrity
The most powerful channel of communication ...........prayer
The most contagious spirit.................enthusiasm

And, last, but not least:

The most important thing in life.........God

Peaches are starting to get ripe here. They are very good this year. Marissa loves fresh fruit.

Also, I have been enjoying bacon and tomato sandwiches. I also enjoy sliced tomatoes with just a little salt. Our tomatoes are starting to ripen so I will be giving several away.

My Mom made beautiful whipped cream at home. She grew up on a farm back in the day. So, when we went out and ordered something with whipped cream on it, she would give it the taste test and declare whether it was real or not. I miss Moms.
