I NEVER CLIMBED A MOUNTAIN

I have never experienced the elation
of reaching the top of the mountain
nor the thrill of winning a race
money befuddles me and slips 
through my fingers
I never went to college
and I've never been to war
but I have experienced: 
the anxiety, the pain, the anger,
the frustration, the laughter,
the joy, the ecstasy, and the 
pure pleasure of being in love
I think I shall not miss the rest.
