Thanks to both of you I thought it was one of the best too. The words and tune enhanced the appreciation of the paintings.

Beautiful picture, Meg. I think I recognize the setting as Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, near Interlaken.
Some years ago my wife Susan (second row of pictures) and I hiked through the area along a trail
past the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (left to right in the upper right photo) to a Berghotel on the Spitzhorn
(not to be confused with the Schilthorn). We dodged bulls on the way with our orange backpacks and
had a wonderfully satisfying meat-and-potatoes meal that evening. We had made it--just before nightfall.

This couple traveled much of the same territory.

On a subsequent trip, we met Gwyneth Paltrow (second from the left) on her way to a friend's house in Wengen.
She pretended not to know English. That was a shame since Susan had treated, in her physical therapy practice,
her mother Blythe Danner and had several mutual friends. I figured it was a conversation not worth pursuing..

Mama Bear, you always have the perfect picture for what ever poem is posted. Beautiful. Thank you and Just Amy for all that you do here. Aloha Well, thank you so much! I enjoy being able to contribute. Amy thinks I am doing her a favor making graphics for her but, truth be told, it's the other way around.
BTW, if Amy had not called my attention to this post, Fish Hawk, I would have missed it entirely. Mama_Bear doesn't answer to "mammabear", but apparently someone else does and SHE (the other mammabear) is getting my pings. ;-)
Thanks again for your compliments and for your poetry. Keep them coming!

Wonderful trip! I believe you are right about the picture..We took an easier route to see the Alps..We had our teenage children with us, went by train from Bern to Grindelwald..The cable ride once we got there was spectacular..My daughter and husband were on the gondola in front of my son and me..and I could hear her saying . “Take another picture Daddy..It will never be better than this”...all the way up..It was just breathtaking.

Happy Sunday, Kitty Mittens. Thank you.
As I'm sure you noticed, I spent yesterday doing nothing. ;^ )
Friday, I witnessed the kindness of strangers.
A couple of men asked if they could help.
One even checked the battery cables for me.
A young lady parked next to us and asked if we wanted to sit in her car with the A/C running.
We thanked her but said that AAA should be there within half an hour.
She came out of the store 10 minutes later with bottles of water.
She would not let us pay her anything.
One of my friends had gone into the store and purchased cups of ice.
We were tired because the heat saps your energy but we were very lucky.
The drive home was 25 miles of country road.
Have a Beautiful Sunday.

Beautiful, Dita. Thank you.
Your butterfly is lovely and the music that you linked is beautiful. Just A Closer Walk With Thee has always been a favorite of mine.
Have a Blessed Sunday.

I read in the local paper that our temp of 110 yesterday broke the hi temp record for June 21st. 105 on Friday was hot enough for me.
When it is this warm, we usually stay pretty much inside.
Have a Super Sunday.

Prayer for the Unborn
Lord I pray this Sunday morn
for those souls that are not yet born
still a fetus in the womb
souls of love that you would groom
keep them from man's every whim
whose abortion rates are dismal grim
destroying those that you create
playing God with children's fate
they name it "choice" to soothe their guilt
dissolving that which you have built
to live and love in You abide
is ended in infanticide
of all the sins that man has wrought
this is the worst one of the lot
Lord, of this evil we repent
for killing of the innocent
woe to those on judgment day
who stand before you when you say,
" I judge you not, but to these I give,
these souls that you denied to live,
will judge you now at heavens gate
and hold the power of your fate
so hope their mercy will abound
for in you was no mercy found"

"When you feel like griping, start counting your blessings."
Excellent lesson today, Rus. Thank you.
On Friday, I should have remembered to count my blessing instead
of complaining about the heat and the circumstances.
Thank you for bringing these reminders to us.
