Oops, I’m sorry, I just looked at the picture again and seen the uncovered Marine ISN’T saluting...he was following military protocol.
Didn’t mean to jump on you, I should have addressed the other poster.
Thank you for that explanation. Interesting.
It was a gorgeous celebration. For those of us who don’t like the spoilers on the thread, we need to ALL hit the abuse button. Perhaps the inappropriate posts will be removed.
OH...his HAT is his COVER!!! I didn’t get that at first.
Congratulations, you’ve just won a day’s vacation.
“Why isnt the Marine that lost his hat SALUTING????”
Look at his face, he is freaked out. Just as the President is walking up his hat flew off, and to add to the embarrassment the President bends over to pick it up.
He just plain got stage fright. Imagine what we don’t see, like the huge gang of hungry reporters and photographers dying for any scoop as they were shut out of the entire ceremony, camera flashes flashing, questions being shouted, etc.. probably his first day.
At least you tried...:)

Geez, they look SO YOUNG!
I hope I didn’t offend with my post. I noticed the s/ tag and didn’t understand.
I thought it was the proper way to handle the situation. My husband is in the army and I thought I remembered him telling me that you never salute without a hat (cover) on.
I missed this post when I responded to the previous one. No offense taken here. Love this thread and the pictures are great.
Thank you. I think he needed some cooling off.
Have you noticed how much they look alike? Funny isn’t it. Many similar facial features. Should be beautiful kids though.
I hope there is a wedding in your future.
Just be sure.
Marines don't salute uncovered.
