You have a problem with veins that 'hide', too? Sometimes the tech will see what looks like a nice juicy one, then come up dry trying to get blood out of it, because it has moved. Tricksy, they are!

Kudos on the 5 Gal. pin. There was a man in my hometown who had given so much blood he was well over 15 gals. given, when I was in high school. I know he wasn't over 60 years old at that point, so he was a prolific giver!

There is a medical condition called hemo-chromatosis, for which the best treatment is frequent blood-letting, and the Red Cross accommodates folks with that condition.

I hope I live long enough, and stay healthy enough, to donate 15 gallons! That is tremendous!!

OB hasn’t been able to donate blood this past year because he had a couple of bone grafts during his tooth-implant procedure, but he can donate at his company’s next blood drive. Hurray! Out with the old, in with the new!
