Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I’ll have you know that it’s yer fault (or Nana’s) that I’ve been craving a Reuben and onion rings all morning.
Mmmmm...Reuben...
And I can’t think of anywhere I could easily obtain one without taking more time than I could really get away with during lunch.
*sigh*
Well...that's good, then! Here's hoping that it really is just the pin that's the reason for her discomfort.
When is she going in?
Seems like we have close to five months of near perfect weather.
More than balances out the three or four months of steady drizzle and greyness, I think. ;-)
We’re trying to get her in either later today or tomorrow.
Mmmmm.....Reuben....
Wow... That’s interesting. Thankfully it was at least a mistake without a really bad ending. Good on you for paying attention and noticing when something “didn’t look quite right”. Very heads-up. That’s the difference between a good day and a bad day, right there.
Maybe mistakes like that serve a useful purpose after all. It jerks our chain a little and reminds us that we’re ~all~ capable of blowing it. One of the things that really cheezes me off around here are those threads about a gun accident where all sorts of yahoos chime in about how they’d never be so stupid as the guy in the story. While of course we’d all like to think we’re absolutely safe all the time... IMHO there’s nobody so dangerous as the guy that thinks he’s incapable of error.
What...? it’s been raining? :-)
We have reached almost full summer here in Florida. After this weekend it likely won't get below 70 degrees until sometime late in October.
Earliest they can see the cat is Monday afternoon. So, we’ll see what happens. We’ll encourage her to eat and drink.
Yeah - but you have air conditioning. :~)
Yeah, just sticking with the four hour shifts for now sounds best! No need to make yourself sick!
Heh, one of SirKit’s best friends from high school wanted to be a doctor, but he didn’t really want to have to deal directly with patients, so he became a Radiologist. ;o)
Don’t they sell air conditioning up there?
Considering ~where~ I had my radiation, I'm not sure he got his wish.
They do sell it, and offices and stores have it, of course, but it's fairly unusual for a home to have it, even fairly upscale homes. You will see in-window units in places that are unbearably hot, but it's sortof like that movie... can't remember which one, where people assume if you have air conditioning, you must have some kind of medical condition.
Help me sis!
I got the Preppy. Go here and scroll down and look at the cartridges...see the kind I have under product description?

How do I connect it to the pen? See that metal ball on the one end? That’s not the end, is it? I push the other end down onto that spike?? How easy or hard is it? I’m afraid to push too hard for fear of breaking the spike!
Oh, it’s not so much the patients that would bother me. It’s the making-decisions-and-judgement-calls-that-could-kill-someone that would bother me. You have to be almost arrogantly self-assured in some ways, I think. And that’s...pretty much the opposite of me. Maybe why I admire ‘em so much. Nurses, too.
