Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Does that make us all sort of honorary god-parents?
Remember Corin, fight the good fight.
Hmm, a Taurus baby on the Aries cusp... could be a handful! ;-)
Congratulations to all three of you.
LOL!
Sure they can! They can bring little soft plastic tools for the baby to konk him or herself, or Mom and Dad, with. ;o)
Oh, and Mazel Tov, by the way!
I'm watching McCain. He's doing pretty well!
Holy cow! After that POW story and this ending, I’m about to say something I never thought I’d say in my entire life.
I love John McCain!
Cue the Rudy music....
Almost have goosebumps!
LOL! They’re playing “Barracuda”!!
That ending was awesome, when he just kept on talking through the cheering. It was vey powerful!
I’ve been tryin to keep up with Twitter, the live thread and my blog coalition (via Google Groups).
But one of the things I pointed out was the imagery. We don’t always get that right, but the balloon drop, the confetti and the fireworks graphic are outstanding.
I could do with a little less images of Republican dancing.
And the ballons are still coming!!!
FReeper on the live thread pointed out something telling: at the DNC convention, the crowd kept chanting "Obama", at the RNC convention, they kept chanting "USA".
Loved them playing "Barracuda" (song has been playing in my head since last Friday) and also, did you notice how long McCain/Palin and families stayed on the stage, as opposed to the Obama family who disappeared immediately after the end of the speech? Also not the difference in music, upbeat pop music, vs. the weird movie-credit-music at the end of Obama's speech.
I noticed that, too.
To expand on that thought a bit more, I felt like there was a big contrast between the two parties where patriotism is concerned. The RNC speeches and crowds were overflowing with pride in and love for this country, even with its faults. They pointed out ways to make it better, but it was all pretty positive.
The Dems seem kind of embarrassed by flag wavers and "USA" chanters. The spirit there is more along the lines of "We're just one country out of a world full of countries, and we should just try to get along with everyone else, 'cause that's nice. And we'd like to apologize to anyone who might feel like we've ever said we were better than them, or more right than them. That was mean."
Did you see all the post-Denver pictures of the flags in the trash?
I posted on Twitter last night "Republicans bring their own flags."
You know them white folks cain't daince! ;o)
