The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

If there’s no grain and no animal fat, what does that leave?

Mornin’ all. I think I’m moving even slower than the average here....

So...we suspect that the blisters on the bottoms of both feet are not spider bites. Leaving me to believe that 2 years ago also was not while last year definitely was.

Best I can figure, I rubbed blisters on them in the bottom of the pool (I've been walking laps for about a hour a day). And they decided to let me know this morning.

I hope...

Ouch! Blisters are bad enough!

We’re tidying up around here. Kittens are restless.

Kittens are restless.

They grow nervous in the shadow of the mountain.

If only you had some... shoes... that could be worn in the water... if only.

Well, I have some around here somewhere. But who would have thought this would be a problem?

Chicken meal, potatoes, ocean fish meal, pumpkin meal, thyme, blueberries, cranberries, carrots, and broccoli are among the more interesting ingredients. I got samples to give to Jackson and Annie and they both loved it. It’s much better for them than regular cat food, although Jackson, being an outside cat, gets much more exercise than Annie does.

Unfortuantely Phoenix got out again and ate up the remainder of Jackson’s food.

:(

The little joker made his escape through a crack between the cabinet and the dishwasher....I’ve got that plugged with remnant screen material.

Solid Gold is coming out with a new no gluten, no grain, no wheat, corn or soybean, no animal fat, no byproducts, no sugar, no preservatives, no salt, and no sunflower oil Cat food.

Imaginary cat food? Think Miss Cat'll go for it?

The Shoooes of Power returned to their rightful owner. But they must not be worn in the water...

Phoenix is out on parole?

His owner just came over told us she was putting chicken wire on the top of the fence to try and keep Phoenix in, as per a suggestion from animal control. Guess they suggested chicken wire 'cause barbed wire is pretty much banned in residential areas.

Our across-the-street neighbor has seen Phoenix get out. He uses his doggy elbows to "climb" the horizontal supports on the fence to which the upright boards are nailed. When her dad built the fence he nailed the boards into the 2" portion of the 2x4, rather than the usual way of using the 4" portion, which gives Phoenix a lot more surface area to use to climb on. We're not "going there", though.

Considering chipmunks are just cute rodents, I’m betting they would. LSA
