Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
LOL. Classic.
I’ve been watching Fay. Y’all stay safe down there.
Looks like we’ll just get much needed rain. We’re on “voluntary” water restrictions here.
Okay, we may be nuts, but we’re in the early stages of considering getting Luke his own PC for Christmas (if gramma and relatives, etc. want to help).
I’ve been thinking Mac.
Thoughts?
They made the bed.
All Mac vs PC stuff aside (my next computer could be a Mac), are you familiar enough with Macs that you’d be able to help him with any problems?
Hey, is this your BBQ grill?
One of the guitar folks just posted it....
Ahhh...Caturday. Glad it’s finally here. It was a lonnnng week.
Today I’m going to a jam a long ways south (Castle Rock). Need to decide in the next hour or so what I’m going to buy to bring to the potluck, ‘cause I didn’t get ambitious enough in the heat to actually make something. I figure a lot of us will be in the same boat, so no big deal.
Tired, though. It was too hot to sleep last night. Plus Tam’s desire to sleep wrapped around my neck seems to be directly proportional to just how hot it is. Ungh.
besides...that's why I have you guys...
I just finished mowing the back yard after, of course, cleaning up after Sam. He's supposed to go to the woods in the back. But he's old (I've restarted him on rimadyl today) and slow. I know how he feels.
But, I'm 50 and arthritic myself. I'm not about to start cleaning up anybody else's $#!t. I'm the primary caretaker for Sam, and the only caretaker for the fish and the crabs (in all fairness to the crabs who ever thought they'd live this long).
Ah - I was gonna invite you guys over this evening... you’re welcome if you get home and it’s still hot.
You need some screens and box fans. :~) Well, and shade trees.
But have fun today!
HA! I don’t think that policy would last long around here, but good luck!
Don't take chips and salsa...
Both my animals are fortunately still among the living but I will not be replacing them either.
Well, unlike your house, we don’t get a lot of strays. I wouldn’t turn an animal away. But I don’t have to go looking for one.
I may be willing to amend it to get a cat because Not Valerie will do the litter box, etc. But there will not be another dog, or a hamster, a gerbil, a bird, a turtle or a snake...
See.... you’re wavering already. What about a pony? :~D
that’s an awfully big litter box...
But kittens are easy...
Seems we tried to convince you of that not too long ago...
I may take you up on that! These things generally taper off by four or five, so it’ll likely still be pretty hot tonight...
I just hope there’s plenty of shade at the jam! Should be. But I may bring a big goofy hat just in case. ;-)
Heading to the grocery for *something* in about twenty minutes here. I’m still undecided.
