The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I R home. Lovely thing, the Eastern Time Zone.

(Though seriously I enjoyed CT whilst in Texas; everything happened earlier (on TV) but not TOO early :)

Evening Hair - You gonna let Wicket out?!?!?

Cool ‘holding pen’ seems sturdy. Good luck with your ‘catching’.

The Cubs game started at 6:00....not enough time to cut the grass so I put it off ‘til tomorrow.

Ahhhhh.....Caturday!

Wicket's out. :~) In fact today I got Barkley's crate all ready to hold kittens again, and she was in the way, like she had her crate back. And Tweek too. They both found it facinating.

But I got it all arranged in spite of them, and then they had a nap in it.

So tonight I'll start setting the trap and see if I can get those two kittens.

Again... For awhile.

We gave the kitties some tuna tonight in addition to their regular food, but opted not to try to trap them. We’re beat, and not up to checking the trap every 15 minutes tonight.

I could see in my honey’s eyes that my asks for help would not be met eagerly ;~) He’s had a hard week.

So a treat tonight. No upheaval. :~)

I was stopped at a light on my way to work tonight. In the lane next to me was an older Chevy compact car. It looked like it had been parked in a chicken coop for six months. There was birdsh!t all over it.

I started to feel sorry for the guy. But as he pulled away, I could see the rear bumper was covered with stickers going back to Gore/Lieberman, plus "Got Hope?" and the "Bush lied, people died" type.

I said a quick prayer that God bless that population of patriotic birds, granting them even better accuracy, and a slight case of diarrhea.
