The Competent Weasels Temp Agency would be a great name for a band...

Or a novel series about amateur detectives that keep wandering into workplace related crimes.

Say an accountant, a computer tech, a secretary, and a legal clerk... they started their own temp agency but every time one of them takes a contract, someone turns up dead.

That would make a good NaNo.

Speaking of which...I've lost my flash drive. The last time I remember having it was at Luke's tech rehearsal for the kid's show. I've only got one or two more places to check before I have to admit it's just ~gone~.

That means all the Script Frenzy work is gone. I do have a hard copy of my Nano07, so there's that...

Oh, man...

I try to keep things backed up in two places to avoid that. I came really close to losing a ton of stuff once - ok it is all crap but I like having proof of what I’ve done.

I remember packing it away when we were leaving the church that night. I just don’t know what happened afterward.

And yeah, I should do a better job of backup.

Well, Dang! Might it be in the ‘lost and found’ at the Church?

It’s another reason why I like starting from hard copy...

I also use Google Documents to store a backup. And that reminds me, I really need to backup my continued work on NaNo2007. I only have one updated copy, with maybe a third again as much as the Google version right now. Eek!

I like it. You should write it. ;-)

Did it go through the laundry, by any chance?

Been there, done that, found it in the dryer...

They often survive washers. Sometimes dryers too.

Maybe I will try some writing this summer but I doubt it will be a mystery. Heh.

I’m still working on NaNo2007. Just about to finish another notebook - back to hand-writing for a bit.

It’s always the last 30% that’s the hardest for me. All of a sudden all the details have to match up, and there are a LOT more details to match than there were at the start. Not to mention I’ve forgotten dates and times and minor character names by then and have to keep rereading my own story. I spent a lot of the weekend playing detective to my own murder, trying to remember what evidence I’d come up with and what the time line was and who had alibis and who didn’t.

One of these days I still need to finish my space opera, too, durn it. It divided in two, and I still haven’t figured out how to glue the two halves back together rather than turning them into two separate novellas.

Dang...my stories done kilt the thread.

Speaking of dead stuff, I’ve yet to try the squeaky-clean USB key...it didn’t make it into the dryer, so I’m hoping it’s OK. I was waiting for it dry out before attempting to use it.

*crossing my fingers*

I wrote during lunch, and now I’m having trouble getting back into the swing of work. I’d blame my main character’s attorney, but I’m afraid she’d sue me.

My radishes all bolted. We only got one radish. It wasn’t all for naught...the bunnies enjoy them immensely and I suspect they provide them with vitamins.

My turnips are lovely however and I would have turnips and spoonbread for supper if I could see! My eyes are so dilated!

I’ve had a headache all day long. It won’t leave. And I’m trying to do this dumb exam. The good news is, I only have half left. The bad news is that includes two problems that are based on principles that are mentioned once, in passing, in the study materials. Ugh.

Crazy that nano vibe. I had NaNo inspiration all day today.... might work on one of my old ones this evening... in between shopping for pellet stoves. I’m still not quite warm from this weekend.
