Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
You know, I’m thinking I’ve even had runs of it...and that it seemed to be hormonally related and that sure enough, after a time it would go away on it it’s own.
Keep me posted.
And you’re right...I want to be around and I felt like death last night. All I wanted to do when I got home was sit.
I told Steve I wanted to be able to holler at my grandkids someday. I even made up a grandkid name...Jimmy Joe. I told him I want to holler “JIMMY JOE! QUIT CHASING THEM CHICKENS!” Or “JIMMY JOE! DON’T YOU GO DOWN IN THAT RAVINE!” (The ravine being where we put all the carcasses of our livestock that passes on...like from the heat or whatever...so the coyotes will take it off and maybe not mess with the living stock.)
Precisely.
I keep going in because I’m thinkin’ “I’m not gonna let this beat me!” But I’m wondering is it worth the cost.
It’s pride.
And disappointment.
94.5 here. I’m still going out to cut the okra at lunch.
Okra loves this hot dry weather...
My habenero looks wilted during the day but perks up at night.
I call it my “Pissin’ Contest Pepper”. Heh heh heh!
I’m looking up PVC greenhouse plans now that I know I can get 10’ PVC pipe from the Home Depot to my house without a Three Stooges event happening.
Just hit 96 degrees here...I checked on the rabbits and they’re not panting very hard right now, but before I go anywhere, I’ll put the ice in with them.
They’re funny...they snuggle right up against the ice!
Miss Cat has the AC set at 82...she can get cooler by staying in the bathroom or bedrooms.
That film stuff on one side of thesunroom really helps! Yesterday it was 97 outside and 91 in the sunroom. Usually if it’s even in the low 90’s outside, the sunroom is in the 100’s.
Wow! That really is impressive!! I might try some on our westerly windows (in the bedrooms).
But you can vote...
This is true, sir...
Heh heh heh!
Well, I’m off to Staples.
Could you pick me up a couple of them marble covered composition books? Our sales tax holiday was this weekend and I got everything on Luke's supply list except those and a new backpack.
It’s a bad arthritis day. Can I skip class tonight?
[tap tap tap] Is this thing on?
Howdy folkses... here’s my obligatory post from the Seattle airport. Heading down to the home office again.
Yippee.
I got to the aeropuerto nice and early, to find that my flight has been delayed for three hours. [sigh] Apparently there’s some real nastiness further east that’s got airports all fouled everywhere. Dummy me I didn’t even look before I left the office for da aero puerto.
Oh well. I guess sitting at the airport bar is better than sitting at da office. So there’s that.
Are you series?
Cause I got ‘em...if you need ‘em.
:-)
And two 2GB thumb drives for $11.98 each.
Now...what does one do with thumb drives?
Hi Ramius...
I’m at the library...no alcohol here, but they do have cooler AC than I’ve got and nice fast internet.
The kids and Steve won’t be home till 7pm tonight...
I went out for mexican food for lunch.
Well, I’m series that I need two, but I’ll stop by Staples to get them.
And one uses a thumb drive to transport files, but one also remembers to back up the files before transport so that one doesn’t lose one’s Nanowrimo novel and two years worth of class work.
Let’s not start the bad Monday thing. We will win.
Oh no! Ugh!
Hey...they’re only fifty cents for two of those black and white marble comp books! Fifty cents for TWO!

I got four of them, plus a book of graph paper and a geometry set (protractor, compass, mechanical pencil).
Matthew’s taking 10th grade Geometry this year. Otherwise he’s in the ninth grade.
He turns 13 on Wednesday.
~breathing into a paper sack~
I wonder if your mother ever secretly had anxiety attacks over you like I do over my boys?
Heh! Just kidding, but just barely.
That’s not a bad price. Especially since I’ve already spent about another $50 or so on his supplies. We still need to get him a new backpack, but he’s got a certain kind in mind and Walmart didn’t have it.
