Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

No, the Ben Kingsley version is not a musical; it’s also not real bloody; the viewer “knows” what is going to happen, but doesn’t see it. The best way to view a movie, imho.

Yeah, that’s what I didn’t like about this version. You don’t really see the blood and gore in the stage version. It’s more of a dark comedy. This one excelled in showing the blood and the lines that are funny in the stage version, just weren’t here.

Actually he’s sent off to prison on a false charge because the judge wants his wife and he returns to seek revenge.
