Good deal...... I used too piss off folks taking so much care and time doing such for firearms that they wanted that peformed like mine. I’d tell em 30 days and they say Huh ??

People would see my gunsmithing or computer work, and ask why I didn't do it as a business. I told them it took so much time and effort, nobody would pay for it.

These things are a labor of love, which means I give it away, but only to family or friends.

~yawnage~

Movin’ slowly this morning. We’re heading up to D.C. for a memorial service for a friend from the church we used to attend.

Not Valerie ended up being surprised after all. She said she was suspicious most of the afternoon. Then when the three of us got to the restaurant she thought “Oh, this is it.”

It was a good time. Jr. got them to give us the back room so we were the only ones there and our tables were facing each other.

I done good.

Well, yesterday morning ecurbh started what he thought would be a simple project to take our gas grill apart and figure out what needs to be replaced. It's not been starting right, so we new it needed a new igniter, and it's not been heating evenly any more, so we thought new burners...

Well, the further we looked in it, it looked like pretty much the whole innards were shot. We haven't replaced anything since it was given to us over 4 years ago... and we use it a LOT. a few times a week, year round.

So we looked up all the parts on Sears.com and it was about $150 worth of parts to fix it... and THIS economic stimulus was on sale for $200.

So here's some scenes from putting it together...

And we christened it with some filets of salmon. :~)

It’s really too nice for our porch. It needs some schmutz on it. ;~)

Nice grill, very nice!

I got some wild, fresh caught salmon at the grocery store last week that was absolutely wonderful, the best salmon we’ve had in a long time. For a taste treat, try sprinkling the salmon with season-all and garlic salt. It’s really good.

Shiny!

Looks like Wicket enjoyed playing job foreman...keepin’ ecurbh in line and doing quality inspection and all.

We can get Silver Coho Salmon at Trader Joe’s for about $7 a pound. It is just wonderful! It’s also a little less greasy than the Atlantic Salmon, so I have to be careful NOT to overcook it.

Ouch! That’s one of the very few things I’ll miss when we move to MS. There are no Trader Joe’s there, though they have begun moving into the South. They’ve opened some stores in GA and NC, and they’re fixing to open one in Nashville. I’m hopeful that at some point they’ll open one somewhere along the MS Gulf Coast, or maybe up in Hattiesburg.

Awwww.....Miss Cat stretched out on my “stonework” while I was getting the grill going.

So should I work on the stepping stone project or the energy film project first?

Which one is out of the sun?

I’m working on that darn glue removal and I’m not in the sun, but I’m still ~glowing~.

Interesting fact, we are hotter than Phoenix, AZ today, but they have higher humidity than we do. Global Warming!!!

I guess the film project is out of the sun unless I want to start the stepping stones at the gate.

But the glass is supposed to be between 40 and 90 for a week before putting the film on so I’m thinking stepping stones. My achin’ back!

Well... settin’ here at SEA. Got a bad feeling about this flight. I got here way early. Had some errands to run before the airport that didn’t take as long as I thought.

But the morning SFO flights were all messed up. One was canceled and the others are delayed. Mine still isn’t for another couple of hours. But they didn’t give me a seat assignment when I checked in. Have to do that at gate they said. Went to the gate but they are in the throes of some earlier Chicago flight gone bad. Told me to come back later.

Nother few minutes here in the bar and I’m gonna go try again. I just know I’m gonna get stuck with some middle seat in the back. I just know it.

Arrgh. Got a bad feeling about this.

Oh dear... well, I hope your flight leaves on time and you can get a seat on it.

We’ve prepped the trailer and prepped the horses, pretty soon here we’re going to head out for a trail ride.
