Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
So were the prices at the pump higher this morning?
I did a 20 mile walk for charity when I was a teenager... no way I could do that now.
There’s a lot of things I could do then that I can’t do now, like the 15 mile hikes we did in the Scouts, for example.

Now she's glowering in the litterbox, but she's safe. And she hopefully can see that I didn't eat her kittens. Time will tell if she pays them any attention now or would want them in there with her, but they now have run of the bedroom and she's going to stay in the crate till I'm pretty sure she's healed.
Well, isn’t that just the cat’s meow...
I’m not real sure they have ‘seen’ her. I had them hid away when I brought her in so they weren’t under foot, and she’s been glowering in the litterbox ever since. She did peek up and look interested, but wouldn’t come out at least as long as I was there. We’ll see after she sleeps this off and spends the night.
If they saw her, they’d be excited, they mob anyone, dog or cat, mom or not.
Ouch...
At least my commute isn’t terribly long. And thenewlittlecar gets *great* mileage - currently between 35 and 36 mpg in mixed driving. That’s about twice what the van got.
It still hurts, though. :-\
Uneventful ride home. Yay!
Now I’m hungry.
Eek! Yeah, that’s a long way!
I work with a gal who *walks* marathons on a regular basis, and who often walks twenty or thirty miles just for the heck of it. For me, them are biking distances. ;-)
LOL! Love it!
I still like Bob Ross. As I believe I’ve said before, sometimes I wonder if you can get his show on DVD.
They’re soothing. ;-)
What do the kittens think? Can you tell?
She probably smells like the vet’s office...they probably aren’t quite sure *what* to think. But it’s not like they’re afraid of strange cats, either...
She still hasn’t come out of the litterbox, so they haven’t been too interested yet. I think she’s still hung over. She had her head up just now watching me though.
Not on my side of state-line; 3.89 for unleaded regular. There are four terminals in KC/KCS and they are fueling now at the one that is still on fire. (It’s on the other side of complex)
We about the same at the weather station at the elementary school not far from us. It was a nice soaking it was.
Aw, poor kitten. Here’s hoping she feels better in the morning and starts to perk up when she see her young ‘uns. Good for you, catching her and having her fixed. Very glad to hear the Animal Care folks could help out with the money side.
