Lake Michigan? Ick, that’s even colder than Lake Erie.
PMS? P#ssed Male Syndrome?
I love it! Took me a minute to figure out how to get the ink in it and got it all over my fingers, but then I figured it out. Thanks also for the paper! I already wrote a honey-do list on it for Steve!
Thank you so much! I'm completely delighted!
Ok!
Well, we’re off! Going to get some lunch then to the library before Matthew has to go to Latin.
I’ll check in from the library computer, probably.
Wow...it’s already there? I’m impressed! I figured it’d be mid-week!
Inky fingers are a badge of honor, IMO. ;-) Glad you were able to figure it out! I realized after I’d already mailed it that it probably would have been a good idea to add a few little tips to the package...
Just remember to keep it capped when not in use and if you’re not going to use it for awhile, rinse it out and store it empty so it doesn’t end up gunked up with dried-up ink. I say that partly because I *didn’t* do that with one of my pens, and have spent the last few days soaking it, trying to get the darned thing cleaned out so I can re-ink it and use it again... :-\ It’s finally clean, but it was a hassle.
sigh...I created a new playlist this weekend from Playlist.com. It’s a rather ecclectic mix (one that includes In-a-gaada-da-vida, California Dreamin’ and Hovie Lister and the Statesmen singing He Touched Me).
But I’m hearing all these songs from when I was a kid and a teenager and I’m getting a little fahklempt...
What, like Beethoven’s Fifth?
Gregorian chant?
Yes, it arrived beautifully packaged...thanks for all the paper towels! I needed them!
I got a few strokes of the pen down on paper before it was taken over by the boys taking turns with it. I demonstrated by writing on their inner arms “This is how much pressure you put...it doesn’t take much.” Joshua actually got it going better than Matthew.
Anyway, it’s in my purse now.
AAACK!! Forbidden territory!
Do I rinse it out with just plain water?
I have my banged-up Parker 51 with me today. With Waterman South Seas Blue. I love that ink...beautiful shading. If it was a little more permanent, I'd use it even more than I do.
We’re at the library taking advantage of the high speed internet.
Matthew’s on my right watching Star Wars Force Unleashed previews and Joshua’s on my left watching Narnia trailers.
Yep - 99% of the time lots of flushing with plain (cold or cool!) water is all that is needed. I’ve heard of adding a bit of of ammonia to the water for really stubborn clean-up, but so far (fingers crossed...) I’ve never had to resort to that.
I usually put some water in a cup and just keep changing the water until as it gets colored, until it runs clear.
That is a beautiful color!
I guess just gently lifting and lowering the lever all the time?
Heh! You’ll have to get high speed internet at home one of these days... it’s getting cheaper all the time...
Yes, but now I think my computer is out of date. I need a whole new set up. But I want a laptop. Wireless. All wireless. I want to be able to freep in the kitchen, in the garden, in the recliner...
What all do you need it for? You could probably get a decent machine that does what you want for about $600.
Right. With the current really stubborn one I also ended up soaking it overnight a couple of times, but I think you’re not supposed to do that with some older materials (like rubber or casein, I think?) I don’t have that many really old pens, though, so I’m less than knowledgeable about such things...
