Well, it’s an awful story. I don’t blame her.
My pen is the one from Benchmade. The aircraft grade aluminum pointy-ended jobber. Check out the benchmade site or knifecenter.com.
I've gotten it successfully on airplanes too. I merely pull the cap and switch ends so the cap covers the pointy part and put it in my briefcase with the other pens. Run it through x-ray.
If it is questioned, it is in fact just a pen. And it isn't technically "sharp". Though it could be sharpened in a pinch. But its a fine skullpunch. Or insta-trach tool, as needed.
:-)
Quite so. Getting "in trouble" pretty much means calling in the parents. OK. So you get called in after the fight and promise the vice-principal that you'll "discipline him appropriately" for fighting.
That way you can save the high-five till you get home. :-)
We’ll have to respectfully disagree on that. :-)
After several weeks of this, we told him that he was allowed to defend himself, so one day he finally decked the kid. When the Headmaster called me in to tell me why David had been sent to him, and that his behavior was unacceptable, I asked him what the school's policy was for when one kid was bothering another one. He said that the teachers tried to let the kids work it out. So I told him our son HAD worked it out, so what was the problem?
The bully didn't bother our son again for the rest of the school year.
Nowadays there's usually some suspension time involved - either in-school or at home. (it goes on your ~record~... oh the horror) If I had kids in a public school who had to fight off a bully, I'd celebrate their understanding that the rules the liberal educrats make do not create peace and harmony. The celebration would probably entail ice cream, a movie, maybe pizza...
So, last night the cat was pulling her dish across the floor wanting me to fill it. :-)
She’s eating and drinking now and using her box (probably not as much as I would expect). But she’s still not venturing out from her little spot. I think this weekend we may try moving things further away.
She’s like an old lady. I expect the place to start piling up with newspapers and old wrapping paper.
You should give her some catnip and see if it does anything for her.
Heh.
get her a kitten to play with ;P
heh...you have a point...
FWIW, these days fighting usually means suspension.
You think she has a demon that needs to be exorcised?
From what I hear, you’re right, these days a kid defending himself is as likely to get suspended as the bully. Now, if a kid was reasonably likely to send a really good message to the rest of the bullies I might say go for it... but I might not.
Zero tolerance garbage is a mess.
That was meant fer yer hubbit.
I’m not sure Luke is quite up to sanding a really good message. But he could defend them in court proceedings...
We bought 35 and are now at 34. My friend ordered 100, so she has the other 65. When you order that many, you get them at about $1 each. It's funny because last year I got 25 for the same amount that I paid for these 35. They are noticeably bigger than they were a week ago. So, how do you get in on this Tyson thing? (and I'm wondering if our Extension Office has incubators...) Very cool.
If all the birds make it, you'll need a deep freeze (or a friend with one). We've got a small one, and will need to buy another small one... with the deer and chicken, we won't have room.

So my grade for the class I took this spring got posted (B+) which means yay, I am officially done, and they’ll mail me my Master’s degree in a couple weeks. Woot! Finally!
Too bad it doesn’t mean a raise.
