No they won’t be here for the anniversary. It was close though. We originally had the celebration scheduled for July 27, but there was a conflict, so we backed it up a week, which put it the last day of Camp Meeting. You do recall what the last day of Camp Meeting was like, don’t you? You know, the picnic.... Now, we will have a big catered spread at the anniversary party. Am I going to get through in time to get all the way out to the campground for the picnic? I doubt it. I can’t handle that much food in one day. Ha. Wish you could be here for Camp Meeting again.
I wish I could be there too.
We had so much fun and it brought back many childhood memories. Prissy Missy enjoyed that trip. She still talks about it.
HELP!!!!
What next?
Prissy Missy just asked me if she could have a My Space. She found some cute animal pictures that she wanted to put on My Space.
I told her no, but man, I’m not ready for this. She knows how to surf the net at least as well as I do.
I’ve had to tell her she is not allowed to go to YouTube unless I go there with her.
Twas a beautiful day here in Buffalo, I was on a roof all day overlooking the skyline of downtown Buffalo and the mouth of Lake Erie/Niagara River I will take some pictures tomorrow.
Mmmmm .... that looks so good.
That helps, thanks.
Sounds beautiful, Mayor. This is such a lovely time of year.
Looking forward to the pictures.
I think the weather has finally warmed up here. It has not been able to decide whether to be cool or warm. The temps were in the mid 80’s today with no wind!!
Isn’t it nice that our children help us to grow up. LOL
There is no pain to compare with the innocense lost when a child grows up.
Sometimes it's rough even on the kids.
Uh oh. Time to get the locking system. It won’t be long till Ms. Em will be way ahead of me. I stay with her even now to make sure she doesn’t wander into forbidden territory. It’s become a very dangerous world for our children.
Why would you do that when I’m struggling with my diet? That’s mean.
LOL
Yep .... I’m growing up fast. I wonder what I will learn next. ;^ )
LOL
Eight year olds are suppose to be playing with dolls .... baby dolls and Barbies. So far, she hasn’t asked for a Ken doll. I’m going to say NO!
Lock her in her room until she is 21 & then let her out
My office became Marissa’s bedroom when she came to live with us. Her computer and my computer are both in her room, so I usually see what she is doing when she is online.
Her favorite is the online “paper dolls”. But she has gone other places .... she has learned about Google. Looks up dinosaurs, ET, mummies, big foot and Egypt.
She discovered YouTube at school. It was not a good site; I told the school that someone needs to monitor what the kids are doing on the computers.
LOL
Can’t lock her in her room; that’s where her computer is located.
We do have parental controls on the TV. I need to check out controls for the internet.
I’m out of sweets..I’ll dream of cheesecake..!
;o)
LOL, welcome.
In May 2006, a man set out from base camp to make his third attempt on Mount Everest. He actually reached the summit, but on his way down he ran out of oxygen. As he lay on the side of the mountain dying, 40 climbers passed him by.
Some say that at such oxygen-deprived altitudes, rescues are too perilous. But others say that climbers are too eager to reach the top and too selfish to help those in trouble.
I wonder what would have happened if someone who passed that stricken climber had said, I will treat him the way I want to be treated.
In Matthew 7:12, the golden rule, Jesus gave His disciples the secret to fulfilling the entire Old Testament relational regulationslove others and live for their benefit. He said this in the larger context of all the radical principles that He had taught up to this point in His sermon (5:177:11).
As difficult as it is to live for the benefit of others, Jesus knew His followers could consistently live out this ethic as they drew strength from a righteousness that went beyond duty and outward conformity to rules (5:20). It is a righteousness that can come only from God Himself.
If we are Jesus-followers, lets walk in His stepsloving others and living for their benefit.
