As usual, I will probably go missing most of the day.
The weekends are our family time. I will get back when I have a little more time.
Thank you for all the wonderful graphics and the moving poems.
Those are great times, aren't they? Freepers are the best!
THE MISSING AT ARLINGTON small white crosses as far as you can see a lattice separating earth and sky each like a book mark over someones son these are the ones who came home but what of those who's valor was lost in hedgerow, vineyard, or black forest or some steaming jungle on an island long forgot these are the sons without monuments but for the flowers wild and beautiful and some old photographs trunked in a dusty attic.
Awwwww........you're so sweet. It's just a cold, nothing serious....but, I am always grateful for prayers on my behalf.
I will be back to my old self very soon. I'm about four days into this miserable cold and I think I am already starting to feel better. :-)
Beautiful and touching. Thank you, fish hawk.
Have a great weekend, Amy.
So beautiful, Fish Hawk. Thank you.
My monitor has the Misty Screen Virus again.
FReedom is not FRee. God Bless our Military, past, present and future.
Same is wished for you, Lori.
Take care of yourself.
I cannot believe all the wrecks at the Indy!!
These are the new links for the the most recent ones:
I know. Seems that the challenge for the drivers in this race is not to get taken out by a rookie.
I have been cheering for Danica to win, but it looks like she just isn't getting the performance out of her car that she needs. Can you believe that she is taking corners at over 200 mph and is telling her pit crew that she needs to get more speed out of her car???
If Danica doesn't win, and it is looking like she won't, I hope Helio takes it. I know it sounds superficial, but he is just so doggone cute. LOL
Uh oh, I just heard that Danica is out of the race. Taken out by a rookie. She had nowhere to go. :-(
That was a beautifully done slideshow of American heroes. Thanks for the link, dita.
We are, indeed, OESY.
Thank you for posting that image of the medals of honor.
but what of those
who's valor was lost in
hedgerow, vineyard,
or black forest
or some steaming jungle
on an island long forgot
I thought of them today,
even the ones at the bottom of the sea and who are dust in desert....
I’m glad you both watched the slideshow. I can’t help watching it a few times a week, and the faces and names of these ordinary extraordinary Heroes who live/have lived among us in these times have become very familiar to me.
I also came across a special program called “The Medal,” airing right now on the local ABC outlet!!!
Tonight, the Memorial Day concert on the D.C. Mall on PBS...A FReeper, who was there for the taping, posted on another thread that it’s a good one this year:)
Heartbreaking.....
Will do.
That is beautiful. thank you so much.
Thanks to all who have served, all who are serving and all who will serve in the future. Thanks to the families, friends and acquaintances of America’s finest.
When is it going to be on in your area? I have searched our listings and can’t find it here. On the website is says it is on our PBS channel, but when I check the schedule, it doesn’t show it. Maybe they will show it later, maybe tomorrow.
