The Hummingbirds are settled in and used to me again, I can move around the yard and they accept me as part of the landscape. There is a Wren building a nest in the rafters of the old shed, I'm hoping she will settle down and pose for me too. I really hate to go to town this time of year, afraid I'll miss something.

Just beautiful! I have hummingbirds were I camp & I love watching them. thanks! Pandy
Amazing how they can pinpoint that beak while pounding those wings so fast.
Primoridal ooze is amazing, isn't it?
Hummingbirds is purty.
Saw the first male today!!
Great pictures! They didn’t have a problem with you that close?
What a beautiful witness and proof of the existence of God!
I have Anna’s hummingbird here in SoCal. A female has nested twice in the tree outside my window; one baby the first nest flew on Dec. 12, and two babies the second time (same nest) flew on March 10.
She showed up again 3 days ago; I believe she mated yesterday and has added soft plant material inside the nest.....
Forgot to say: Awesome pics!!
Gorgeous pics! My hummingbirds haven’t made it here yet, but my purple martins have...:-)
Here's a 2008 hummingbird migration map for anyone who likes to keep track of such things.
How lovely. Best of luck with the hummers.
Thank goodness that I am pinged because I never won’t to miss one of your posts. Just beautiful.
we have lots of hummers here in socal all year round.
i watch them when i’m in the swimming pool and jaz.
Mr G and I were just discussing how beautiful those pictures are.... and I realized the pictures are bigger than the birds are!
I just caught a glimpse of our first hummer this week. He was peeking in my window wondering why he wasn’t being fed yet! Today I got the feeder all cleaned up and filled. Unfortunately for them, the temperature will drop into the mid 30’s tonight!
Great pics! (nice camera). Have you ever watched a pair face-off and go into a vertical climb (while spinning slowly almost beak-to-beak) for about fifty feet? I’ve wondered what that means.
Thanks, folks, I’m ready to live in the yard until first frost. 2 cameras used here, the 1st shot is from a Panasonic FZ30, the others from an old Olympus C2100UZ, only 2 MP, but the best critter camera ever made. It just won’t make big pictures. The early airshows are to impress mates, later when the chicks are flying, they are from sheer exuberance, it must be a blast to fly like they do. Amazing thing, they just flew across the Gulf of Mexico, non stop, to get here. That is a big puddle of water!
