Thanks for the update. Good luck with everything, and I will certainly keep you in my prayers.
I’m no doctor and I don’t even play one on Free Republic, but my only advice would be vitamin supplements:
1. B-complex 100 (capsule)
2. Ester-C (1,000mg) (2x500mg capsules)
3. Coenzyme Q10 softgel (100mg)
4. A vitamins A (10,000iu) & D (400iu) combo softgel.
5. Fish oil softgel (1200mg)
Also, swallow a mouthful of raw bee pollen with some juice. All this stuff will help you feel better and get better. It’s been my regimen for twenty years+ and I swear by it.

LH
Continuing heartfelt prayers for your health and your family
I accidentally turned my wheelchair over and scraped my ankle. The scrape refused to heal./snip/
He wrapped my feet and legs in a compression bandage and sent me home.
My heart goes out to you JimRob, and my prayers are with you.
My dad fought with a similar issue for 4 years, which began from wearing a special boot he had to wear to take pressure off of his achilles tendon. The area turned black, skin sloughed off, and it oozed. Surrounding skin began to peel and deteriorate as well, from edema. He went through anti-biotics, creams, tests, infections, etc. Finally a VA Dr at the Urgent Care Clinic sent him to a Wound Care Specialist who ordered him to wear a compression bandage and gave him a salve. Wish I knew the name of that salve! The Wound Care Spec also ordered him to discontinue wearing the boot. In just 3 weeks his leg, ankle and foot showed signs of healing. After 2 months wearing the compression stocking all-day every day he was reduced to wearing it just 8 hours each day and was eventually withdrawn from the bandage. His leg is fully recovered now... and he still doesn't need the boot.
A rather long tale, but the point is to illustrate that miracles DO happen. I'm praying for you to receive a miracle. Keep the Faith!
Blessings your way and Prayers UP
Jim, I pray that you are doing better. I was out of touch, of course, over the weekend. That’s my busy time. But I did remember you in prayer every time I thought of you (which is often). May the healing be swift and sure. Thank you Jesus.
Thank you all so much for your prayers. I’ve got an update. Yesterday, I went in for a blood test. The VA called me this morning and said the blood test shows I have diabetes. Why it never showed up on earlier tests no one knows. Now I have an appointment for tomorrow to pick up “supplies” and learn how to give myself injections. Ouch! Not looking forward at all to this.
Still praying for you Jim.
Maybe they should run that blood test again, to be sure.
LOL
I sympathize with you. I sure wouldn't look forward to having to give myself injections either. In fact, that is one of the reasons I never even thought about becoming a nurse, I don't think I could ever draw blood or give injections. :-(
But, I know you can do it and it won't be long before it will be no big deal.
Please know that jk and MamaBear are keeping you in prayer. Stay strong, Jim. We need you back out on the corner of Blackstone and Shaw, happy and healthy!
Thanks for the ping, Amy.
Well, that explains a lot, but it doesn’t improve my confidence in doctors. But knowing that will give them more to go on to get you healed. Big time prayers for healing and comfort. Thank you Jesus, for what you will do.
Keeping you in prayer...
Coincidence? Inquiring minds want to know..... ;-)
Seriously, sorry to hear about the diabetes. Keep up with it and you’ll do OK. Don’t keep up with it and...
(at least from what I’ve seen with relatives on both sides who have been compliant...and noncompliant)
Cinnamon in capsules has been shown to decrease the need for insulin. I think the research is available on the net.
Am into some partial liquid, fruit fasting this week and praying extra for you, still.
Blessings,
LUB,
BLPH,
Since others are offering home remedies, I thought I’d add a couple I came across:

Also, I’ve read that turmeric helps regulate sugar levels, and is an anti-inflammatory agent.
Of course, you would need to check with your drs., and check out anything you take for possible interactions with your meds.
Here is one site that helps to do that:

God bless.
My prayers are with you Mr. Robinson. I can’t believe they didn’t catch this earlier or that it didn’t show up on other tests. Thank God that they figured it out. Prayers for your adjustment to the diabetic lifestyle and healing for your other health issues. God bless you.
My mother was on every medication known to man for diabetes and heart failure for over twenty years. She cooked her last great meal before she went in for knee replacement. (in retrospect a bad idea since she had a stroke after surgery and died a few months later) She was functional, useful and happy until she was 85 while in the clutches of her regular docs. She followed orders.
Prayers for Jim Robinson. Thanks for all he has done.
Thank you all very much for your prayers. Spent most of the day today at the VA. Will be going back again tomorrow morning. Not a whole lot of progress to report yet.
I’m glad we have a website where folks can untie their hearts in prayer.
Imagine what it would be like if it went dark.
If you’ve done the RIGHT thing, then thank you. If not, why not?
