I just made some of this a bit ago before I saw yours and, actually, I did boil the water ‘cause that’s what lots of recipes said. I used white cane granulated sugar and freshly filtered water. NO RED DYE. It is cooling now... Thanks, CG.

That's how I make mine; 1 cup of sugar to 4 cups of water, then boil it for a few minutes to make sure that the sugar is completely dissolved, and no food coloring. My hummers love it!
I need to get back to Dancing with the Stars. For some reason, this season doesn't seem quite as good as the past, but I am still watching.
Good night, all.

I promised to bring you a recipe to celebrate Coffee Cake Day. This one sounds good. .... Easy Coffee Cake
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup shortening
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
Topping (below)
PREPARATION:
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and soda. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine egg and buttermilk; stir into the flour mixture. Spread into a greased and floured 8-inch round or square cake pan.
Sprinkle with topping and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Topping
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over coffee cake batter just before baking.

When you make your next batch, use un-boiled water and taste the difference.

Mornin' y'all! I did it! With lots of help and many thanks to you, Dita! How do you get rid of the rest of the words? Still learning here... The coffee cake looks/sounds yummy! I had 2 pieces of cold fried chicken for breakfast! LOL I don't bake much anymore--if I bake it, I will eat it, and neither hubby nor I need it.

Wait a cotton-pickin' moment, Billy. I know a flimflam when I see one. You're supposed to charge $19.95 only once, then add $42 for S&H (green stamps?). I'm not going to pay one red cent more, and I will require a battery-operated (batteries not included) black light flashlight to be able to pretend to find the urine stains--if (and it's a big "IF") it's totally dark and I shut my eyes and feel for wetness. I also need a Rosetta Stone CD to learn the Billy Mays shtick, or is that the Video Professor(?). (I can't recall right now.) Anyway, you need to clean up your act before we do business, and say "hello" to Hadley for us.

IntegrityIs It Possible?
Give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies. Psalm 119:125
Samuel DiPiazza, CEO of a major public accounting firm, co-authored a book on building trust in the business world. The book proposes a spirit of transparency, a culture of accountability, and a people of integrity. But in an interview in Singapore, he noted there is one thing the book cannot teachintegrity. "Either you have it or you don't," he said.
Is he right? In our world of shifting standards, can integrity be acquired by those who don't have it? The answer is found in our unchanging standardGod's Word, the Bible.
David the psalmist did not head a multinational corporation. But he did rule over a kingdom, and he was serious about doing what was right. He recognized how easy it is to slide down the slippery path of unethical behavior simply because it seems advantageous.
So David asked God, "Teach me Your statutes" (Ps. 119:124). "Give me understanding," he said, "that I may know Your testimonies" (v.125). David hated "every false way," and based his life on the principle that "all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right" (v.128).
No one is born with godly character. But by studying God's Word and listening to His Holy Spirit, we can learn to hate falsehood and love integrity.

Happy National Empanada--International Bird Day! Mornin' OESY.
Sorry, but my Empanada looks better than your Empanada - it's Caramel Apple filled and deep fried from Taco Bell. If you've not had one of these, you're missing a little bit of heaven, really. Paddy O'Poppycock says in his review of this snack that it's "about as healthy as a brick of lard on a hot summer day"......but boy, oh boy, is it ever good!
I do believe I will pass on the Duck Lip Soup. LOL
