Well, it's because I was disappointed that the link didn't work. It's a good lesson and was worth the search. Thanks, dita. I hope others come upon it and enjoy it too. :-)

Dear Mr. Heston
I won't say good byes
But I wish you aloha
And not without tears
Although you don't know me
I'm many in size
I'm the millions that love you
And applaud you with cheers

Not only for your talent
Displayed on the screens
In hot summer days
And cold winter nights
But for truth and integrity
You showed in life's scenes
Where danger was real
And you stood for our rights

Oh, Dear Mr. Heston
I wish you God speeds
He is now the Director
And is choosing your parts
But you won't be forgotten
Nor will your brave deeds
You'll always be loved
In the core of our hearts.

     Rest in peace Charlton

Steve Wright-isms

If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the scientist who once said: “I woke up one morning and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates!” His mind tends to see things a bit differently than the rest of us. Here are some of his gems:

I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Borrow money from pessimists - they don't expect it back.

42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

All those who believe in psychokinesis, raise my hand.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met.

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.

Hard work pays off in the future, laziness pays off now.

I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

My mechanic told me, “I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.”

Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?

A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

The colder the Cray table, the more of your body is required to be on it.

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film

Rest in peace Charlton

Amen! Rest in peace, Mr. Heston. You will be missed. Never has it been more true; our loss is Heavens' gain.

Well, what wonderful news that is! That makes me a young '40'. ;-)

But, you know, that's how old I 'feel' most days, so I think you must be right. In fact, I was thinking the other day that I am actually healthier today than I was when I was in my 30's. I used to get miserable colds and flu almost every year and never do anymore. I exercise daily and need much less sleep than I used to. Life is good. And one thing I've learned to never do anymore is wish time away. I try to enjoy every minute God gives me here, even if I am waiting in line at the DMV. :-)

Enjoy your grandbaby, CG. Looking forward to more photos of the little angel.

Faith is most important. Attitude is second and is of course a bi-product of faith. Everything else comes after those.

I will enjoy her and try not to post every picture taken of her ; )

Enjoy your day.

Inspiration

Just where does it all come from,
And just why is it here?
Some of it our eyes do see,
And some tickles the ear.
It’s really all around I find,
I mean it’s where it’s found.
It’s in the sky both day and night,
And even on the ground.
My theory is God put it here,
For us to find and share.
His love and blessings touch our hearts,
Reminds us of His care.
I’ll use my eyes and use my ears,
But mostly use my heart.
That’s where the inspiration is,
It’s been there from the start.

Frost's poem does describe April, though not Alaska too well. It happen to be on a related website, so I used it.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we're still getting this message when we click on Butterfly's Lesson:

“We’re sorry, but your Gmail account is currently experiencing errors. You won’t be able to use your account while these errors last, but don’t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue. Please try accessing your account again in a few minutes.”
