When I went out to check on the baby this morning I was surprised to see him sitting still as a statue back in his nest! After spending all day yesterday fluttering from branch to branch in the Oleanders and the Lilac bush, he may have decided that it is more comfortable to wait for his next meal in the nest where he isn't having to cling to branches for dear life. Either that, or mom and dad jay have put him in time-out. LOL. I can't tell from the look on his face if he's been chastised or if he is just terrified of the big world out there.

I think SBJ realized what an energy expenditure flying is. He has decided to conserve energy for the time being, eat more and get stronger.

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me. I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. Good morning, MamaBear. How sweet Sweet Baby Jay looks this morning. Thank you.
I think he is much safer in the nest ....


But, Mr Mittens is getting more comfortable outside the garage.
Yesterday he climbed a redwood tree and the birds were very upset.

JustJr told me there is a mockingbird nest in that tree.
Later MrJust said Mr Mittens has caught and eaten a baby bird. :(

Nature can be so cruel. : (

Oh, no! Well, that is nature. It keeps population balances in control, but still.......... :-(

Today our predicted temp high is 91 deg with cooling tomorrow.
