Mornin’, everybody!

Great stuff, as always! I want to be that dog today! LOL

We had 10” of rain yest, hail Mon. Shaking head. At least I got to work in the greenhouse all day yest! The hail wasn’t bad, but I’m sure many people lost their gardens to flooding. I can’t get out in mine to check, but a great deal of it is still under water. I should have planted rice! LOL Y’all have a great day!

Driven By Gratitude
Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. —1 Corinthians 15:58

What's the greatest novel ever written? Many readers would vote for Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, which, depending on the edition, can run well over 1,000 pages. Even after his novel was finished, Tolstoy continued to write—often until he was on the brink of exhaustion, unable to sleep, and on the verge of a breakdown.

One day a friend asked him why he kept writing and driving himself to the edge of exhaustion. He reminded Tolstoy that he was a wealthy Russian count with servants at his beck and call, and that he had a secure future.

Tolstoy explained that he kept writing because he was the slave of an inner compulsion and had a consuming desire deep within his bones. He felt that he had to keep writing or else he would go mad.

The apostle Paul experienced a similar compulsion, except that his drive was God-motivated. As he explained to his friends in Corinth, "the love of Christ compels us" (2 Cor. 5:14). His was a burning passion, an emotional fire, a spiritual force that made him share the good news of Jesus and His death and resurrection.

Such dedicated zeal has characterized many of our Lord's followers throughout the years. May a spark of that fire burn in our own hearts.

Fill Thou my life, O Lord my God,
In every part with praise,
That my whole being may proclaim
Thy being and Thy ways. —Bonar

The good news is too good to keep to yourself.

Good morning, all. I had every intention of coming back yesterday after my appointment but had a harrowing experience on the way to the bank which ended up giving me a splitting headache that I went to bed with and have woken up with.

I hit a guy on a bicycle as I was stopped at a red light. Now, I realize that sounds like it is not possible, and it is partially true - I wasn't completely stopped, I was moving a bit. And more accurately, HE hit me as I was rolling forward and looking to my left preparing to make a right turn on red (which is legal at this intersection). He came from my right, traveling really fast, flying across in front of me, riding against traffic, as I started to make my turn and he clipped the front left of my car. He is fine, not a scratch on him, thank God! It still seems like a nightmare. It all happened so fast, as accidents do. It never occurred to me that it wasn't my fault as I was trying to determined if he was okay and offering to call a police officer out, etc. It wasn't until afterward, when I was explaining in detail to my husband what happened, that he said it was NOT my fault if the guy was riding his bike on the wrong side of the road riding against traffic. That explains why the bike rider was so adamant about the fact that he was not hurt at all and his bike was fine and there was no need to call the police. All the while I am thinking that I nearly caused an accident that could have killed someone!

I am so thankful that there was no harm done, but I am still shaken over the experience. I have never had a car accident, never even been pulled over by a police officer in all these years. This incident really shook me up. It will certainly cause me to be more careful about what might be coming from my right when I am preparing to make a right turn on red, that's for sure.

Now I will attempt to answer some of my pings here and catch up with my freepmail.

Loved the video....great job!

Thank you, jaycee! This was one of my first attempts, my other camera didn't have video capabilities. I think I have found a new toy. ;-)

It will be fun taking little movie clips of the jay babies after they leave the nest. They will be around the yard for several weeks learning how to fly and fend for themselves. Be prepared - I plan on boring all of you to tears with monotonous scrub jay photos and videos. LOL ;-)

Sorry about this incident that happened to you that has upset you and given you a headache. We never know when a thing like that can happen to any of us. We are as careful as can be but it still can happen. When family or friends are leaving to get in their cars I always say “Be very careful, there’s a lot of idiots on the road.” They may not be idiots, but are unsafe. We never know what will happen today!

It’ll be okay...glad he wasn’t hurt and hope your poor head gets better!

Thanks. All’s well that ends well. I am just so very thankful that it turned out as it did! It was a close call and I think that it was God’s way of telling us (BOTH) to slow down and be more careful. :-)

It is hard for me catching up on thread after only a day, so can’t imagine after several days...Yikes.

It's impossible! And here I am behind AGAIN. LOL.

Thanks for the compliments and comment on my youtube video. I am hoping to get a few good videos of the little jay (jays) when they leave the nest. It just isn't working trying to get one of the nest activities, just too dark in there and mom and dad jay are becoming increasingly nervous about these photo sessions.
