Oh, I want that to be my yard - trees, water, path-ways, swans, and flowers. (And, please put a heavy gate to the entrance, so I can have it all to myself.)

Of course, I would share it with FReepers from Amy’s Place.......

Thanks, Cardi!

The first year after I moved to the high desert, I planted hundreds of tulip bulbs. Within days, all my beds were dug up, and all the bulbs gone.

I later found out (after I quit crying) that javelinas just love tulip bulbs. (I had never even heard of wild pigs called javelina.)

They dug up my gladiola and dafodill bulbs, too! The only bulbs they seem to ignore are my canna lily.

Goodness, thank you! I haven’t gone through them yet! I am sure we will find something we can choose from here!

I could have gotten on the net and searched but just didn’t want to do it today!

I will print them out as you suggested...a copy for him and one for me! Some of those sounded great and all were similar. I love them too! My whole family loves oysters. That was a tradition in our family from husband’s side.

Christmas morning, we would fry our oysters, as many as we needed for the number of people here. Then I would take another skillet and fix lots of scrambled eggs with lots of hot sauce! To some this may not sound good but it is absolutely wonderful! We would have toasted French bread, rolls, or biscuits. We quit having the tradition when the family spreads out and everyone has to go their own way on Christmas morning and our parents are all gone now. I had it for the kids and their families for a while. My sons loved this breakfast but some others were finicky and said they didn’t like oysters and wouldn’t even try them....!

Thanks again, yorkie!

Heavy gates are good but you would let the tour buses in for paying visitors.

May I suggest something like this - you may even have a little side business with the local garage.

YORKIE'S PLACE PRIVATE CARS KEEP OUT!

Warm, fresh, sweet, peaches...
Baked, and cobbled together
with mounds of ice cream.

Man, oh man, oh man
does that ever look delicious
melting in my mouth

Peaches in springtime
Glowing warm and sweet in pastry
beneath vanilla snow.

Kitchen aromas
second helpings all around
fruit in abundance.

Perfect as dessert
better warm as my breakfast
yummy any time

Selling tons of plants
smiling at all customers
gritting my teeth lots

Buying lots of plants
planting them will surely please
me with pretty flowers

colors like bright jewels
lighting up the world each day
make it all worthwhile

Snip, snip and clip clip
Flowers on the table now
brighten all the days

Hummingbirds are back
flying jewels buzz past my head
flowers in the air

Azaleas are so
ubiquitous here, Provide
color for winter

Red, yellow, pink, white
all colors of the rainbow
really bring delight

bright colors drawing
everyone’s eye,wonderful
smells pleasing noses

Recession?! What recession? We were slammed again today! Not a bad thing, considering, but a little breathing room wouldn’t be a bad thing! Not jsut us—the local small grocery store was packed tonight as well. I got the last parking space in the lot, and the girls inside said it had been like that all day for them too.

Tried Cardhu’s gorgeous pics again—my computer just doesn’t like them! LOL This time I didn’t get the office 2003 message—I got the microsoft has encountered an error and needs to shut down!

Have a great evening!
