And Idol really pimped movies this year.Yeah, the commercialization of AI continues apace. The show has gotten so far removed from its original purpose, which was to find the best undiscovered singer in America, that it's hardly recognizable anymore. These days it's a bloated mishmash of:
--> talent contest among previously discovered, but unsuccessful, singers,
--> variety show for current and has-been acts trying to hawk their latest stuff,
--> stale, repetitive judges' comments,
--> a product-placement vehicle, and last, but not least,
--> a platform to gratuitously push limousine-liberal guilt trips on the mostly middle American audience.
The show has lost its heart and soul and, frankly, its fun.

Interesting story. The flaming blue skull reading aloud is a nice touch. Yeah, who would have thought that the song writing contest was filled with people that work(ed) for AI, Jackson, Abdul, Aiken, Davis etc.
What a rip. They pretend to be giving the unknown a shot, but, it looks like the unknowns are just tossing $10.00 away, and when you times that by the hundreds of thousands of entrants, it starts to smell like a scam.

The show has lost its heart and soul and, frankly, its fun. Yep. I can hardly wait to see what moronic changes they make for next year.
In that video above where Cowell was talking about Mantasia's performance, he said he wants her to come on and sing 'Summertime', not that!
So, which is it Simon? Do you want 'contemporary', 'recent' music or older stuff?
Oh, and would somebody please FEED THE FR HAMSTERS!

I just hope it gets back to normal before the show tonight. Course, I’m not sure what normal is anymore. It seems slower, more often ever since the ‘upgrade’. I haven’t cared much for the ‘changes’.

Seal is married to Heidi Klum.
MEN! Let this be a lesson to you!! If you just have the confidence to talk to us*, make us laugh and don't say anything completely mental in the first 90 seconds, we'll at least talk to you and maybe even go out with you!
* "us" being the hot women of society like Heidi Klum, Miss Didi, me and 75% of FR women (100% of the women on the FR AI thread, of course).

Well, that’s a risky approach. It could either get you in the front door or have the cops looking for you. ;-)

More scoop from MJ:
Donna Summer and ZZ Top are performing according to this. Yay?
Other rumors include a performance by the Jonas Brothers and perhaps a gift from his pop holiness, Kanye West. Well see
Jason Castro has a clue for one of the guest stars, he says that one was known as codename Virgin Airlines.

Sir Richard Branson?
It's got to be Madonna. She's got an album out now.

It says they think there might be a Chris Daughtry "lurking in the weeds in this year's crop." Do you think that they're talking about Carly?
