Good suggestions. I would like to see them bring back having some of the guest judges/mentors help in the audition selection more often. Maybe they could expand the number of cities they go to for this.

Way too many singers/bands get all caught up in whatever it is they consider "art," and they forget (or don't know how) to be entertaining. You nailed it right there. That is why so many records, movies, and books that have good potential end up on the cutting room floor or if released they end up in the resell bins.

They have a show coming out where the women from Rock of Love, Flavor of Love and the guys from I Love New York all compete. I'm really not sure what they are competing for, but I'm sure it's something slutty. LOL!!! The object of the show is to find the one person that doesn't have an STD ;)

LMAO!! That’s for sure.
If ever you feel bad about your life, watch that stupid, “Shot At Love” on MTV. The other day I was working from home and had the TV on in the background and that show came on. OMG! It is THE dumbest show ever! EVER! It will make you feel like Einstein or Steven Hawking. You know those kids in school who were popular because they were loud, drunken morons? Yeah, they are all on this show.

Reminds of the early 90's of the MTv's Rock-the-Vote nonsense. I can't remember the VJ's name but he did the MTv news and Rockthevote thing. He would try to be a hip serious politico but he came off really cheesy. Plus he did not have a clue about the issues. They would go out to get comments from the youths in street but the majority of the answers to the questions whatever they might be was "Nirvana-Teen Spirit" or "The Spin Doctors are so cool". They seem always get comments from those guys and gals(loud, drunken, 6 bong-bowls later) your talking about. It was hilarious.

I was thinking earlier of who they might have on the finale and I thought maybe they might have Lionel Ritchie since he wants to record Hello with David C.

Thanks Jonny. This good man — and fine actor — deserves our support for all the good work he does. BTW, his CSI-NY is the only CSI version I watch. :)

I am really looking foward to hear David Cook and Michael Johns CD releases.Me too. I saw Michael Johns on Good Day L.A. on Friday. He said he's been offered a lot of acting roles, but he never thought about going into acting before. He still wants to be a musician and singer.

The third song will be whatever ghastly song wins the Idol Songwriters Contest. LMAO!! Hopefully they will take the time to clean it up and make it listenable. Last time I was like "That is what won?". I would have hated hearing what didn't win.

Well that is good to hear about MJ. Hope he really puts in the time and turns out a good record.
About what Simon said for the show changes in lowering the age to 14 I remember Simon early on in AI, season 2 or 3, saying in a interview he did not like having teenagers on the show because of their immaturity and that their voices always change later on and usually for the worst in singing.

im not a fan of the group numbers where all the constestants prance about on stage and take turns singing. something about it just gives me the creeps.I agree. Too Mickey Mouse. They need to cut that out completely.
i would be interested in seeing more interaction between contestants and music stars (from all genres), and at an earlier stage of the process.
Agree totally. That is one of the more interesting parts of the show.
To: sirchtruth
IMO, the reason David Cook is great is not because he's a fantastic singer, it's because he can arrange these older songs and make them sound good in today's time. Music is all about the genre fad in the current age. It has to have cultural relevance.
I agree, except I would say that "David Cook is not popular because he's a great singer...."

Netizen, thanks for the link to the download site (I went to the first one); it seems to work pretty well. But you’re right that the ads are NOT family-friendly! LOL! I downloaded one song that was close to 6MB and it took about 30 minutes at 31 kbps. I’m downloading a 10MB song right now (studio version of “Billie Jean”) and I expect it to be done about the time I’m ready for bed. :) Thanks, all!

Sometimes the studio version is different than the AI version, and the studio version is usually longer than the AI version, so, if you find you don't like the studio version give the AI version a try.
Glad the link was useful to you. I downloaded a couple from there as well.
Son, tells me if you become a member then you don't get the ads. Now, there's an enticement to get people to become members! :)

That chart does not include Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, Elliott Yamin, or Josh Gracin. I don’t know the numbers, but I’m sure that Pickler and Covington are probably at least in the middle of this pack as both have received pretty big air play on the country stations.

Rumor has it that Monchichi will be singing:
"Imagine"--his choice
"Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"--Clive Davis' choice

Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m going to bet he’ll be wearing some sorta peace symbol attire also.
