Don’t you just love that? You’d think it was doctored, but it isn’t! :)

Wow! Thanks for posting that. How stupid is she?

Very stupid. Here's more.

"Idol" LaKisha Picks Up Fantasia's Crumbs

"American Idol" Fantasia Barrino not only blows off her performances -- but her fans too!

The singer gave her final "Color Purple" performance on Sunday, and after the show ended at 6:00 PM, fans waited by the stage door to get her autograph. Unfortunately, they were still waiting in the cold until 8:45 PM, when they were told she had already left! D***! Ah, who needs fans anyway? Luckily, humbler "Idol" contestant LaKisha Jones, who also stars in the production, signed some pics for them -- on Fantasia's picture!

I just thought of something when I looked at the pic on the reload. I’m pretty sure we have seen pics of Simon and he had hair on his chest. Does he shave his chest? There isn’t hair in that pic.

Simon says: Blow it up
Surly judge tells ‘Idol’ staffers show desperately needs an overhaul, and he’d give Paula and Randy the boot

If you think Simon Cowell’s public criticism of the current season of ‘’American Idol’’ has been tough, you should hear what our favorite TV curmudgeon is saying behind the scenes.

According to Cowell, the ‘’Idol’’ concept needs a major overhaul; ‘’the whole thing needs to be blown up,’’ Cowell reportedly has told staff members.

A longtime “Idol” production exec adds that if Cowell had his druthers, “and there weren’t all kinds of tightly written contracts, Simon would love to see Paula [Abdul], Ryan [Seacrest] and even Randy [Jackson] replaced by fresh talent.”

Cowell is quoted as saying at a recent meeting: ‘’We need to come up with a new way to find contestants as well. Everything we do needs to be examined ... including sets, audition process, choice of musical genres for the final weeks of competition, and even how we handle the audience [for live performances] and how we say goodbye to people eliminated.’’

While ‘’American Idol’’ is still very popular, it has seen a significant dropoff in ratings this season — leading Cowell and other ‘’Idol’’ honchos to begin thinking of ways to invigorate the very valuable franchise.

Reportedly, Cowell also has raised the idea of bringing in a secondary — and female — ‘’host’’ to work with Seacrest, similar to how ‘’Dancing With the Stars’’ uses Samantha Harris to complement Tom Bergeron.

Among Cowell’s recent public comments to ‘’Extra’’ was his contention that ‘’Idol’’ needs to skew younger. ‘’We are going to have to drop the age [for contestants] from 16 to 14.’’

Whatever happens, one ‘’American Idol’’ insider says next season will see some major changes — ‘’to give us a new lease on life.’’

Replace Randy and Paula? A new female co-host? Drop the age limit to 14?

They might as well just kill the show now. None of that will fix anything--it will just make things worse.

If Simon and the producers really want to improve ratings, all they have to do is one very simple thing:

GET RID OF THE BEG-A-THON.

It's so obvious! Can't they see that?

And there are some things Idol can do to liven up the process.

1) Leave the auditions they way they are, but focus more on the talent and their stories and less time on the deluded wannabes. (Also they could shorten the audition round by a week)

2) Make the Hollywood round LIVE! And give viewers some say in the outcome.

3) Bring back the "wild card" round they had a few years ago, where viewers could vote on a group of singers that didn't make the cut in Hollywood or the semi-finals. One person from that group could advance to the Top 12.

4) Get Paula into a 12-step program.

5) Go back to the half-hour results show. FOX will lose a bit of ad revenue, but the show itself will be more dramatic and will probably bring in more viewers.

They don’t want to admit that the beg a thon is hurting their ratings. I think we need to not watch at all that week. Perhaps if they see that the ratings for the week prior and the week after their beg a thon are higher than the week of their beg a thon, they will finally admit to themselves where one of their main problems is.

All the suggestions you made are good. Maybe we should get together a list of suggestions and email them to several of the producers like Nigel.

I'm not sure why Cowell wants to lower the age. Look at the fun they are having with Monchichi's dad. Just what they need, more stage parents involved. And we all know that the main producers of good quality music these days is coming from 14 year olds! /sarcasm

That would stink. How about a limit on this elevator music crap??? Again, that quote from "That Think You Do!" comes in handy....

"I don't want any of this lover's lament crap. I want something peppy, something happy, something up-tempo. I want something snappy."

That too. I watch AI because it’s totally mindless. I don’t watch it to have big issues crammed down my throat by limo liberals.

ITA with everything you said. They could do a crossover with A & E and get Paula on an episode of “Intervention.”

“Pauler, I’m asking you to get help today. Will you accept this gift?”

i’m not a fan of the group numbers where all the constestants prance about on stage and take turns singing. something about it just gives me the creeps.

i would be interested in seeing more interaction between contestants and music stars (from all genres), and at an earlier stage of the process.

the band seemed to play a larger role this year, which i thought worked well. more background info on the band would be cool. a segment on band auditions would be interesting to see. guest star band members would help ensure fans would tune in.

last week’s show had the contestants sing songs chosen by the judges and the producers. i liked that simon chose a song by Roberta Flack for David Cook. next season, throughout the process, perhaps they could poll the viewing audience as to which songs constestants will sing the following week. the producers could post a list of songs for viewers to choose or simply let the audience submit songs.

in the first several rounds of the live performances, contestants have very little time (around two minutes?) to sing. in some cases, that’s a good thing... still, it would be better if they had more time.

they’d pick up a lot of viewers in certain markets if they’d put the show on the road.

they could give constestants a blog to vent throughout the process and to keep in touch with fans and critics. keep the blog running even after the constestant has been eliminated. eventually someone will say something offensive or provocative that will prompt a reaction from the judges or producers. making all of the public would attract viewers.

I thought Fantasia was awesome.

I do too. She definitely brought the funk!... not that I, uh... know the funk. but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. :)
