Cowell continues unhappily. We had these callers phone in and I forget what the question was What do you like? and they just sat there. They couldnt talk. It was literally un-be-liev-able. Pickler would have been great at the call-in segment: "What's a ballsy?"

No, the fish thrower was Lew Zeland (I had to look it up, it wasn't off the top of my head LOL). He would just show up and start flinging fish. I guess he was sort of a one-trick pony, but it always cracked me up.

Thanks for posting that link to Peggy Lee’s “Fever”. I was told by an uncle of mine that I resemble her (now that I think about it, that’s a little creepy...).

We probably won't be seeing "Fever" on AI anymore after Simon said it's sooo "not contemporary."
I agree with you ~ everyone else's "Fever" pales compared to Peggy. ";^)

As the end of yet anotehr year of American Idol comes to a close (dont let the door hit you in the arse, Monchichi)—I am saying tonight, and aloud that unless you both put me on every ping list you are on until next season...I am going to need an intervention and a sponsor for my AI meetings......”Hello, Im Mag, and I am an AI Thread-a-holic”

LOL!! I always feel like school is getting out for the summer at the end of AI. The convention live threads should be fun. Maybe.

I think part of the reason the show's ratings have declined this year (aside from the puke beg-a-thon) is because the talent level has declined. No winner since Carrie Underwood has gone on to big success in the industry, although a small number of non-winners have. Well, it isn't realistic to expect every winner to be a huge success. Take a look at the winners that went nowhere. Reuben, Fantasia, Sparks, Hicks. I still think Hicks could have done a lot better had he gotten the same treatment that all the others winners had gotten. They didn't promote him, they bad mouthed him. As for the others, their genre and or talent wasn't 'all that'. imo
Now they are getting ready to pair Sparks up with someone else to try and boost her sales. I can't recall which top artists they hooked Hicks up for touring....... OH wait. THEY DIDN'T.
I really think that Cook can be a top selling artist, and we shouldn't forget Daughtry. Not my type but he's been quite succesful. Though we need to keep an eye out. I think what they do with their second albums are a better indication of their staying power, mostly because TPTB have such a strong hand in the first one. jmo

(If we can't locate/deport illegals, how will we get them to come forward to pay their $3,250 fines?)

My favorite Muppets were the two old guys in the balcony making snide remarks....then the Swedish Chef and Beaker—those guys cracked me up.

I think the Dem one will be fun, because we can all bond on how we hate the candidate. But the GOP one will be, um...not as much fun. 3000 posts about immigration, 350 about abortion, etc....

OR< we can combine the 2 conventions and AI, and make those three idiots sing a tune they choose (”If being left is wrong, I dont wanna be RIGHT” (Obamanation)
“Cry me a River” (Her Thighness)
“Whoop, there it is” (McLame)
THen you can select the songs YOU want them to sing ;-) LOL
