If I hadn't seen Billy Joel's original, maybe David A would've shined for me but even his technical prowess couldn't make up for the lack of depth ~ unless maybe he was singing about his dad!
Now THAT must be heartbreak! How humiliating.";^(
Yeah. He's 20 years older than Kat, which means she qualifies as a trophy wife. Last I heard, the happy couple was expecting, but I could be wrong about this factoid.
It was a last minute change. From what I've read the ycouldn't get the other one cleared, so he may not have had much time for learning a better one.
My son was telling me that they have a spray now that you spray on the cat. Evidently it neutralizes whatever is in the saliva (from when the cat bathes itself) that makes people allergic.
LOL!!! Love your pics! Too funny. ;-))
The first time ever I saw her face, I thought Syesha looked like a diva who would NOT be very nice in person.
Her lack of a homecoming did nothing to disprove that notion.
Compared to the really, REALLY good divas of Idol past ~ Kelly, Carrie, Jennifer Hudson, Melinda Doolittle, Diana DiGarmo, etc. ~ her voice is not all that.
I thought Paris’ performance of “Fever” a couple of seasons ago was better than Syesha’s.
I thought so, too. I downloaded that one.
My favorite under-used muppet was the Swedish Chef. Or Beaker :)
I loved those 2 too!! I laughed every time the chef talked. :) I also liked Animal, but he wasn’t underused.
Yes ! Forgot about Paris!

Simon Cowell Endorses an Idol Finalist
http://www.blender.com/BlenderBlogNewPost05132008/Blender-Blog/blogs/1168/25239.aspx
From the looks of disgust on Simon Cowell’s face this season, it might seem like he despises each of the American Idol contestants with equal vigor. Not true! As Blender has learned, Simon despises one contestant less than the others.
Who do you think deserves to win this season? we asked Simon. “Probably David Cook,” he drawled. “I think he’s done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He’s taken more risks, he’s done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I’m gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win.”
Of course it’s also true that Simon is coaching Cook this week, which means he’ll sing “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” a ballad also recorded by Cowell’s chart-topping X Factor discovery, Leona Lewis. “I love that song! David Cook didn’t even know what it was,” Cowell snorted.
For an obnox uh, opinionated guy like Simon, nothing is more ruinous to good television than boring contestants. He was clearly not pleased with Jason Castro (”He just gave up I get frustrated over that”). “There was a classic moment last week,” Cowell continues unhappily. “We had these callers phone in and I forget what the question was ‘What do you like?’ and they just sat there. They couldn’t talk. It was literally un-be-liev-able.”
Is it because they’re all working to ingratiate themselves with voters? “Of course! It’s like they’ve studied the show and they don’t want to put a foot wrong. And that’s going to have to change, going forward. I want what I call gobby, talkative people on the show.”
So, next season of Idol: gobby, talkative singers. We won’t say which contestant Simon finds the most boring, but we will mention this: When told that his Blender interviewer bears a resemblance to David Archuleta, Cowell roared, “I would think you have a bit more personality than he does.”
Do you suppose that Simon was comparing Cook’s version with Flack or Lewis or both? Makes Simon’s pick even more interesting.
I agree, but none will ever compare with Peggy Lee. Never.
Hi Netizen. Hard to say, but it doesn't surprise me that he thinks Cook should win. That seems to be the consensus opinion of a lot of the Hollywood crowd out here in Los Angeles. It also seems to be the opinion of a lot of people who post on various music boards.
In my opinion, Archuletta shouldn't even have made it this far. He is such a limited and cheesy performer. I gave up on Syesha last week due to her dragging politics into the competition. It's bad enough the AI producers stick us with their smarmy 'Idol Gives Back' crap, but when a contestant gets political, that really ruins it for me. But, having said that, she is better than Archuletta.
I don't think Cook is the greatest thing since sliced bread either, but he's miles better than Archuletta. Most people think Syesha is going home tonight.
Sam Rubin, the long-time entertainment reporter on KTLA (the local Channel 5 here) was in the audience last night. They even put the camera on him for a few moments. Although I doubt he's well known elsewhere around the country, Rubin is a pretty big name here in L.A. among the Hollywood glitterati. Anyway, on the KTLA morning show today, Rubin said he was surprised to see how "small" Archuletta is. Rubin wasn't referring to Monchichi's size, but how he impacts a live audience. Rubin said Monchichi would be incapable of reaching an arena-sized or larger audience. Rubin said Archuletta's OK in front of a small crowd of around 300, but he just doesn't fill the stage.
All of the L.A. reporters here who have been watching the show and expressed an opinion think Archuletta shouldn't have made it this far.
I think part of the reason the show's ratings have declined this year (aside from the puke beg-a-thon) is because the talent level has declined. No winner since Carrie Underwood has gone on to big success in the industry, although a small number of non-winners have. Also, most of this year's top 12 finalists were not truly undiscovered talent.
