Awww....that is really nice.
Ohhh, RAT Pack!
But, since reading the Wikipedia definition for the Brat Pack, I think I'd rather be one of them: "The group has been characterized by the excessive partying of core members such as Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez, while their films have been described as representative of "the socially apathetic, cynical, money-possessed and ideologically barren eighties generation." I liked the '80's! Much more than the "Green/Socialist '00's".
Hi Jonny. Sorry I missed the festivities last night. I agree with the above sentiment. The AI thread is my escape from everything political, too. :)
I have a bit of AI news/gossip to share with y'all. Had wanted to poste it yesterday morning, but didn't have the timee. First a small amount of background for folks who don't know Los Angeles and the TV market here.
Fox's 'Good Day L.A.' is the #1 morning show in this market, even beating the ABCCBSNBC networks. They are close to the AI people, partly because the show is aired here locally, and partly because both are on Fox.
Steve Edwards, Dorothy Lucey and Jillian Barberie (now Reynolds since she got married) have been the long-time hosts of the show. They socialize with many celebs who live in the L.A. area, including Simon, Paula, Randy and Ryan. Now to the bit of gossip. Jillian was backstage Tuesday night hanging out with Neil Diamond. On the air yesterday Jillian said that backstage Neil hated the performances of Monchichi and Dreads. He thought Brooke was OK, and thought Syesha was the best of the night.
What Freep needs is a kill filter, one where I can designate whose posts I don’t want to see.
I wonder if JimRob could do that?
See ya’,

I have some MP3’s of Shatner singing...
Oh my GOD he’s horrid!!
Nemoy’s prety bad, too.
LLAP!

I saw Donovan in concert two years ago. FANTASTIC show!
In between songs he talked about the ‘60’s, neat stories about the Beatles, the Doors, Dave Clark Five, CSN&Y, all the greats.
Amazing, wonderful show, topped only by John Mayall’s show later that year.
Mayall’s over seventy years old, and he was ROCKIN’! He did a 15-minute Room To Move with Blues harmonica as good as James Cotton, whom I also saw later...he was great, too!
John had gotten knighted shortly before his concert here in Oregon, and his bandmates kept kidding him, saying “Oh, gee, John...should we call you SIR Mayall now?”!
It was great.

People ask me all the time if me and Frank are actually friends. Sure! In fact, he was talking to me right before I came out here. He said, "Get out of my way."
The local newspaper, The Daily Courier, did a story on Kristi Lee after she lost (she lives in this area) and it was really interesting.
She was in an old t-shirt, and saying she’s looking forward to going back to the Y and getting into martial arts again, and getting into horse back riding again.
I go to the same YMCA. If I see her, I’ll tell her to log onto Freep and read the thread.
The Courier’s on-line, but you have to pay $4.00 to read the article!

Fun gossip! Did Neil say anything about David C? (My husband agreed with Neil’s assessment. I thought he was going to bust a gasket at Monchichi singing “Sweet Caroline”! LOL!)
I thought you should have been Joey bishop because you’re more the commedienne. ;)
I really liked Brook and her style of singing.
I wanted to see her do some Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell or Carly Simon.
Can you imagine her doing Circle Game?
Wow...now THAT would be a hell of a song for her!
By the way, I thought it totally bizarre that idol didn’t address the fact that the judge’s comments are written for them beforehand, and their comments have little to do with the actual performance of the song...
Ed
He ought to know. You don't last as long as him in the business and not know such things. I think he's on the money.
I'm not a Jewish comedian (at least not in this life), but I'll take the part. Joey outlived all the other RP members. ;-)
PS: He's not alive anymore. He died last year.
LOL!
He didn't hide that well. "Can I have a hug?"
Ah, those were the good old days when even people under 30 knew my name. Joey Bishop channeling through Wolfstar
:)
