I have loved Brooke from the beginning and voted for her like crazy last night. Reading around different forums that most think her nerves are getting to her. I hope she has another chance next week. I’m also sweet on Dreads. ;)

I like Brooke very much, but I think she peaked 2 or 3 weeks ago. When she showed up in the Bottom 3, I couldn’t believe it, but now I think she’s lost a lot of confidence, her songs are all beginning to sound the same, and her pout is kind of wearing on me. I do think she has a nice career ahead of her, but she has gone as far on AI as she probably should go.

There was no reason Brooke should ever been in the bottom 3. She is much more talented than dreadboy and the teeny bopper. And infinitely better than Syscreecha. Why this close to the end that they are making them sing Mariah Crap instead of showing off what they excel in is ridiculous.
Thank goodness Dial Idol has Syscreecha in the basement again.

If you listen to the videos of her that are on YouTube, she hasn’t changed her style or sound since she was 16.

I fear that Brooke will leave us tonight. Syscreecha has Randy's support...and even Simon.

The judges have been out of their collective minds.
I think they can't hear what we hear on air.

And they sure are pushing for Baby Elmo.

And they sure are pushing for Baby Elmo. Considering that not one of them has ever called him out for that loud, shallow breathing he does on mic, it's clear that they're pimping for him.

I’m re-watching Idol and you know, David Cook is looking waaaay cuter than when he first came on the show. He looked darn handsome last night.
To: ChocChipCookie
I noticed that, too. My sister pointed out that Dreads needs a little conditioner for his locks. Wonder what would happen if he came out with a haircut next week. ;)

Thank goodness Carly covered the tatoos this week.
Yeh, but did you see her husband, when they panned to him in the audience after she sang? Damn...I thought SHE had a lot of tattoos. Ickkkk...

I was not liking last nights episode, with all of them doing Mariah Carey songs, as I can't stand her music. Not to mention how SO totally fake she is, it bothers me immensely.
Paula could not have been more incoherent. And I don't think Randy is all that, when it comes to great talent. Some of his critiques of the Idols have been SO way off. Simon usually always has it right, but he too seems to "pimp" certain Idols. It gets old.
Since every week, the one I choose as my favorite gets voted off...I'm going to use reverse criticism this week (note: major sarcasm ahead.....).
So, without further ado.....HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON THE TOP 7:
David Archuleta - "When You Believe"

When You Believe everything the judges say about you...you can sing anything, even a diva song. And it wasn't boring at all....not to mention that it didn't sound anything like your other performances, on AI, either. You are top dog...really and you truly know how to pick a song. It's too bad I had to fast forward through your performance, it was just too much for me to bear. Although I love how thankful and humble you are, listening to the judges...it's so endearing.
Carly Smithson - "Without You"

Without you, this show would be lacking diva quality. You outdid Mariah. (/sarc) It was actually pretty good.
Syesha Mercado - "Vanishing"

You will be vanishing into the background with that performance. You didn't out sing anyone...not even Mariah.
Brooke White - "Hero"

You're my Hero for singing a song that just gives me shivers...(skin crawl). And for once, it didn't sound like your other performances. Also, hearing you take breaths between the choruses, made the song even better. I think Simon was hinting that maybe you need to eat a hamburger.
Kristy Lee Cook - "Forever"

With that performance, you'll forever be in the bottom 3. You just don't have the vocal range and lung power to pull off such a great diva song. And the country flair just isn't your style.
David Cook - "Always Be My Baby"

You'll always be my baby...I just dig you so much. You really know how to rock the place and your sound is SO hot. And it was so easy to understand the words you were singing, you sang them so smoothly and clear. You are truly unique and nothing like the crap music out there today. I also love the way you look, that hair style really gives me tingles.
Jason Castro - "I Don't Wanna Cry"

I don't wanna cry, but listening to you week after week, I can't help but feel your emotion. You make every song sound unique and different and you ad that extra flair to make the song special.
Disclaimer: heavy sarcasm was used in above comments, so as to deter the one I want to stay from being eliminated (and hopefully the one I can't stand, will go). It hurt like hell to say what I said about some...esp David C. and KLC, since the exact opposite holds true for me.

The song “Vanishing” is written that way. It seems that it would be a difficult song to sing.

I learned everything I ever wanted to know about dreadlocks at dreadlocks.com. It was actually kind of interesting. I am still a Jason fan no matter what anyone says. :O) I’ve downloaded more of his songs than anyone else’s. I wonder if the Idols get a cut of the money spent on their iTunes downloads.

My husband is a guitarist/singer/songwriter in his spare time (not famous)
He started watching “Idol” with me recently. He brings a fresh opinion to the “who is best?” question.
He says Jason Castro’s singing style is fresh and interesting and David Cook is amazing. He said Kristy Lee Cook hit most if not all of the right notes in her performance last night and she was impressive.
He said David Archuletta sang very well but he likes David C. better and Jason the best. He liked Brooke and thought she was really pretty and sang well in a Carol King kinda way. Carly was good but...
He feels Simon gives the most honest critiques based on his experience as a producer, even though Simon seems a little biased toward certain contestants.
I personally love Carly’s “Judy Garland belter” type of voice as well as Syesha’s voice.
Among the guys I have to say Jason is the most interesting. When I heard him sing “Over the Rainbow” in that poignant arrangement first used by ?????, I was reminded of the sad sad episode of “ER” where Dr. Green dies in Hawaii and that song is played throughout. Talk about crying.
Touching renditions such as Jason’s of these types of old standards stay with you a long long time.

Your hubby's comments are spot-on.
I've been on a few Idol forums reading up on viewers' comments and it seems unanimous. People LOVE David C. and Jason for their originality. Brooke is a fave, although, most agree she let her nerves get to her and messed up last night. Just about every poster is not a fan of Monchichi (or Baby Elmo) so he's probably getting his votes from the screaming Ashleys and the over-70 crowd (like my folks). Most agree that Carly has a lovely voice but her angry scowl, tatts, and screaming has worn out her welcome. Syeesha doesn't seem to have any fans out there, but Randy. Lastly, though they don't want to admit it (for fear of loving God and country), KLC has surprised many. For that reason, they want her home. The Bottom Three will be: Syeesha, Brooke and Carly. So who will go?
