Kristy’s more like a cross between Pickler and Phil Stacy. Country is her only genre. Degarmo darn near won, and should have won over Mantasia.

Where are you getting that David A’s father has control? I heard that a while back and then it keeps coming up, but have not seen anything in the news about him having too much say.......alias.....stage dad. I saw it once, and it seems that everyone just jumps on that without any back up for it. Have you read something or heard something on the news other than Simon and his little speech? Very curious.
To: Pure Country
Yes, there was an article about when David was on Star Search, his father was so controlling and was intimidating other contestants taht he had to be removed from the area. It has also been reported that he refused to give David water.
I'll see if I can relocate some of the articles.

Anyone ever see any stats as to what % of AI votes are phoned in vs. being texted. Sems to me that the youngsters are mnore prone to texting, and it's easier to get the votes in that way, and more of them.. But, don't they charge for text votes, while dialed votes are free?
I've often wondered, because of the free landline vs. pay- to-text, whether all votes are weighted equally or if text votes count for more: like 2:1 or 3:1 or even higher.

Thanks, that is the first that I have seen anything other than just remarks on here.
You know, at the beginning of the season, David was a good looking kid. Now he looks washed out and tense. I think someone told him he has ugly teeth or something. I noticed that he smiles with his mouth closed a lot--just not natural. Something appears to be going on behind the scenes and I'm not sure that it is all dad or not. Would like to see David relaxed and comfortable with himself. He has great talent.

David Archuleta's Father Is Taking Stage Parenting to a Whole New Archu-Level
If you want to read up on more, Google
Jeff Archuleta,
archjazz and
archjazz@gmail.com.
Don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong in a parent being involved in assisting their child in reaching their goals. Jeff, however, is not only extremely agressive, but he's also using his son's talent to set himself up as some kind of consultant to other Idol wanna-bees.
I actually feel bad for the kid. This kid has the potential to be really special, but the aggressiveness of the father will hold him back. It's too bad...

Wonder if Carly really had the least votes and she was saved as she is Randys pet. Think about it...MJ was competition for their other pets DC and DA, too.Think about this, it's not hard to understand. AI is a "Popularity Contest." Who was voting for MJ? Most likely woman over 30, who don't vote like the tennies vote for Monchichi. There was probably a surge in votes from the tennies and there you have your results for last week which cooled the Hotness. My wife went completely balistic and threatened to, "Never Watch Again!!!" Her ass will be planted in that chair next week, same time come hell or high water, garaunteed!
I just sat back, laughed and said, I'm sorry, the fantasy is over, but you still have me to gaze your precious eyes upon. At which point a gloomy, deepset sulleness settled over her face as she gracefully got up from her chair, and went to bed.
W H A T...?

But flat Kristy needs to go home FIRST.I think Kristy is getting better each week. Eventhough, I don't think she'll be around too much longer, she's got a half decent shot at making it in the country genre. She has found her niche and ought to stick with it throughout the rest of AI, and just let the chips fall where they may.

Simon and Randy criticize someone every week for being boring and not stretching their song selection. I don't know why that doesn't apply to Brooke.Eventhough Simon tells people, "It's a singing compitition," that's not all it is. The whole package is preferred, and Brooke brings something to the table which is marketable to more than ONE segment of the population.
One thing she definately needs to do is STFU when the judges are critiquing her performance.

Finally, we had a nice guy to swoon over. ;) I understand the "squish" factor surrounding MJ, but you still have Gnatboy and Monchichi to look forward too. The swoon factor or appeal is half of what AI is all about, and eventhough I even like MJ, he wasn't so great.

I actually find Dreads really sweet. Monchichi is who my parents are swooning over. (rolling eyes) I do agree about MJ’s talent, though...he never really found his unique sound.

Clinton asserted that giving to Idol Gives Back would amount to collectivism, Obama claimed that giving to IGB would make America a more fair and more equal place.
IOW, both are seeing voluntary giving as communistic, socialistic redistribution of wealth. They see that potential in EVERYTHING. It’s what they are.
