A little scoop from MJ's Big Blog...could it be Carly???

...However, for you conspiracy theorists out there–somebody at Idol Forums heard Nigel give an interview on Sirius radio this morning, and this is what he said (paraphrased by the poster at IDF):

…Tonight's results might surprise quite a few people and reminds people that its important that the singers do well each week and that someone can be riding high at the top of the pack and the next week be gone. He mentioned Constantine who had never been in the bottom 3 and had been a star with BR and then just like that he was eliminated…

Fans, I just can't get enough of Dreads and his SOTR...have been singing it all day.

Jason Castro sings "Over the Rainbow"

“Tonight’s results might surprise quite a few people and reminds people that its important that the singers do well each week and that someone can be riding high at the top of the pack and the next week be gone.”

Sounds to me like they’re hinting about David C. getting the heave-ho. (Which would annoy me quite a bit!) I think he’s the best all-round contestant this year, but that last song he did was just wretched, and that stupid jacket made him look like a refugee from Sergeant Pepper’s band. I threw some votes his way but I’ll bet you a buck he’s at least in the bottom 3 this week, if not actually gone.

I'm betting on Carly...here's what Dial Idol says (if we can trust them):

David Archuleta 1-3

Jason Castro 1-6

Kristy Lee Cook 1-6

Brooke White 2-8

Michael Johns 2-8

David Cook 2-8

Syesha Mercado 4-8

Carly Smithson 4-8

The Over the Rainbow rendition drove me nuts!

My hubby has the Israel K (the Hawaiian guy's) CD, and it is quite charming, but the verses are reversed so that they do not rhyme. That was kind of endearing when Is did it, since he apparently didn't speak much English and was singing basically in a foreign language, but I felt Jason could have turned them around so they made more sense and still kept the charm of the arrangement.

Of course, that would have taken a modicum of brain power, and Dreads doesn't give the impression that he's much of a thinkin kind of guy

My daughter and I were discussing David C's possible fate today. We're both fans of the "pompous one" (as if a rocker should be anything but! Imagine if he had the meekness of Ramielle-wouldn't work, which is why Simon's perpetual complaints about his image are annoying)

Anyway, it might not be the worst thing if he is booted sooner than later. He will have a career regardless, and can get started right away and with fewer Idol strings attached. Would certainly miss the originality of his performances, though.

Crazazy TV Contraption Predicts “Idol” Losers
Posted Apr 10th 2008 12:13PM by TMZ Staff

If you want to place bets on “Idol” in Vegas, we think we found a way you could score millions of bucks.

TiVo may have cracked the mystery of who gets kicked off and who doesn’t. Company insiders say they can predict who’s not connecting by TiVo usage.

Here’s the deal. In a sample of 20,000 users, TiVo monitors traffic — which contestants get replayed (a sign of popularity) and which one’s get fast-forwarded.

You think it’s bogus? Well, the TiVo system has nailed who got booted four weeks in a row.

And who does TiVo say is getting the ax tonight? Poor Syesha. Take it to the bank, people.

I predicted either Syesha or Carly so Dial Idol’s numbers are pretty much doing the same.

But...I just caught this article. Interesting...

You scooped me by one minute. I must have been posting when you posted. Oh well...

Poor Syesha. If this is correct Carly may be safe to show her tats another week. (Girl, please wear sleaves!)

One of the things that makes me wonder about the possibility of it being DC is whether or not his outside Idol stuff might actually have him wanting to go home? If his brother really has had a setback healthwise, perhaps he’s reprioritized and wouldn’t be crushed to go at this point? I’m not really convinced of it...but...perhaps a possibility. I think he knows he’s ok without Idol, and that the producers love him and will likely offer him a contract no matter where he finishes.

I actually think there may have been a little foreshadowing in that she was highlighted at one point in Seasons of Love (which all but Brooke were anyway, though) but she seemed to get some extra face time, again at the end of Shout to the Lord, and she was the last Idol face in the ending credits thing...just struck me as interesting. Not that it means anything, but...it caught my attention after the first time!

How about that also applicable to MJ? He’d done great the last two weeks, was rising in popularity, and not in the B3?

He was not only poorer this week, but also first...that’s not often a good combination...PLUS he and DC largely share a fan base AND DC had a bad week...all of that could lead to MJ getting overlooked and really low in votes.

Caught the tail end of the "Gives Back" special. Looked the same as last year's, frankly.

I remember Tiny Tim's wedding to Miss Vicky on late-night TV. And I never missed Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, which launced Tim's career.

I agree. We already know that Lionel Richie is waiting to work with him.

Last week when they spoke to him about his trip to the hospital he said he was fine and not going anywhere, so I doubt that he is 'wanting' to leave.

She was also featured a lot in the “Idols manning the phones segment”...again with her little sign.

Wasn’t he a hoot? Miss Vicki was the first of his three wives.

Rowan and Martin was great. Lots of fun, lots of humor, without resorting to foul words or potty-mouth jokes. And the nation was not so divided into political camps. We could all enjoy Nixon getting a pie in his face.

It’ll never be like that again.
