I thought it had to be...but then my head couldn’t quite wrap itself around them actually doing it! I thought Mandisa doing a worship song two seasons ago is the only overtly worship song we’d hear on Idol...although there have certainly been other definitely Christian and then leaning that way ones before.
Wow!
I’ve got a huge group of us who play an Idol game (on four 1/2 continents...obviously some via youtube) and many aren’t watching tonight b/c it’s just too hard to watch this much of a show. I’m definitely sending them the link to that one!
I’m still shocked (and I found it on youtube already but can’t find Daughtry yet...another surprise!)
How amazing...even if they did tweak some lyrics!
Thanks for replying! :-)
Good Lord! Skeletor Shriver and a Hopi prayer....thank God I fell aseep ten minutes into the show. The last thing I remember is Mylie Cyrus and Billy Crystal doing “Who’s On First” and then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
I awoke with a start at 9:55 and mumbled “It’s still on?”
Then I quickly switched to Channel 9 News (NY and NJ) to see endless scenes of murder, mayhem, political theft, falling-down buildings, and the luscious Brenda Blackmon.
Sez I to myself: “Why don’t they hold a Guilt-a-Thon for New York and New Jersey?”
The funniest thing I saw on a newsclip of the protesters in SF was that...since the cops weren’t beating anyone up...they beat themselves up!!!
Jonny - you are sooooooo brave to subject yourself to this drivel, yet still put it in its place.
Bravo.
...or maybe they didn’t want to bruise the sensibilities of our Muslim neighbors. They deliberately took Christ out of the song...to me a “Christian” song elevates Christ. Taking Him out of the lyrics, negates him and I am wondering what Darlene Zschech is thinking about what they did to the song she wrote.
Many religions use the word “lord” to refer to their deities.
Look at the bright side... Next year will suck even more!
He heard Chuck Norris was coming...
Ain't that the truth... On a really bad night, they'll carry you for a ways.
I can’t believe it.... Pawler didn’t that awesome new song of hers? That would have been the ultimate!
[hoo boy, I am sooooooo /s]
I was shocked when I saw Mrs. Schwartzenegger! Does she have some serious medical condition, or is it just plastic surgery gone very wrong? (What's with all celebs trying to look like Skeletor? Doesn't anyone grow old gracefully anymore?)
“2 hours and 40 minutes. Somebody shoot this horse.”
YES!!!
I added five minutes to my Tivo and it still wasn’t enough. I have no idea how it all ended up. Long-winded to say the least. (Of course I didn’t suffer through the whole thing — just fast-forwarded and stopped wherever it looked interesting. It was still pretty awful, though.)
Had to ask, did I miss anything worth noting? Did they boot anybody off? Or are they going to do that tomorrow? I think my husband will slit his throat if I make him watch Idol again this week!
The only thing I found worth watching was Carrie in that pretty dress of hers, but ye gods and little fishes, what a dreary, angry, depressing song she sang. Really inspiring. (Not!)
They look like they hurt. Oh, and I bet her feet hurt in those shoes too!
;o)
When Maria Shriver came out, I told my husband she looked like a mummy. Her mouth and nose looked very odd. Does anyone know what’s up with her?
They have been replaying it a lot...it’s in two parts and four hours long. I thought it was excellent; let me know your thoughts.
Perhaps this will be the week when the kids actually perform songs that were written during their lives... Or Monchichi doing a song that won’t cure insomnia.
I wonder if David A will sing the song from RENT. lol. That is a song about AIDS afterall.
Darlene is my favorite as well. Have you ever heard the story of how she wrote this song?
