Very true, Wolf. And the other weird thing is that right now maternity wear is tight tight tight and THAT doesn't look good either!
So strange. Maybe all the gays who dominate the fashion design world are going through a period of missing their mommies. ;-)
Inconceivable!
:-)
Thanks for the re-cap of your experience seeing AI live! Very interesting!
I have enjoyed your posts. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Would you like to buy some Creative Spelling and Erroneous Gammer Insurance because it covers things like this? I use it quite alot, but my premiums keep rising every time I do!
The band looks like it's been placed in the attic clouds on TV. Did it feel like the band was far off and really up above and away from the contestants?
I'll just say this about Dolly. I know people love her and she is a GREAT song writer, but she needs to stop performing, her time has passed.
Jesus, sure thing like gravity. Both ground you.
He looks cuter in your picture than he does on the show!
Harsh, but true. She clearly wasn't in the same league as the others -- she came across as a good karaoke singer, but little else.
In a lot of ways, it's a pity. She has talent, and a good voice, but absolutely no concept of who she is as a singer. She just chose songs that she likes and tried to copy the style -- she really needed to define what her style is, and then find the songs that would play to that. Maybe the tour, most notably, having pros choose her songs for her, will help her figure that out.
It proves yet again how very hard it is to be a star. Think about it -- the judges cut the field down to 24 of the best auditioners (probably not the best 24, but that's show biz) out of 100,000+. Of that group, how many are going to really be stars? Maybe 1 or 2 if they're lucky; quite likely none.
Why is that so? Because of how hard it is to find that "total package" -- someone with good enough talent, who's "different" in some way, personable, connects well with the audience both live and via the camera, and who is attractive. That's such a rare combination that AI, despite the vast numbers of viewers, has only produced a handful of legitimate stars in 6 years.
Ramiele lacked any uniqueness and failed to connect with the music or the audience, and she's going home. Kristy Lee is probably next because she, for whatever reason, can't deliver an emotional response to anything she sings.
It is aggravating. I keep getting 'overload' message....meaning too many people are on the server. Sounds like FR is downsizing!
I agree.
LOL!
What a photo. They look like mother and son. Or mother and daughter. Or something :)
My guess is on the 'something'.
Degenerate out. Pay attention to the slight of hand in the third paragraph posted. THEY’RE going to give and WE’RE going to do things with the money THEY give. Also, it says Ryan is going to take over for Degenerate. She did the other theater? How can Ryan do that when he handles the other venu?
Ellen DeGeneres Out On Idol Gives Back
http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2008/04/02/ellen-degeneres-out-on-idol-gives-back/
FOX had previously announced that talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would once again be co-hosting Idol Gives Back. However, it turns out that Ellen had to back out of her co-hosting duties. In a recent press call, American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe explained, Ellen, we were told couldnt do it due to personal production pressure, and its going to be taken over by Ryan.
Even though Ellen Degeneres might not be co-hosting, almost every other major celebrity on the planet appears to be lined up to appear. Nigel Lythgoe listed Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus and Robin Williams as a couple of the celebrities who would be appearing. Lythgoe said that he specifically didnt want to talk about what Robin Williams did, because he wanted to keep it as a surprise.
When Lythgoe was asked if he was worried about people getting donor fatigue over all the different fundraising events out there, Lythgoe responded, We should not be the generation that sits back and says, Are you worried about fatigue of people giving money? No, Im bloody well not worried about that. Theyre either going to give or theyre not going to give. Were going to do some marvelous things with the money that they do give, or if we havent got the money then were not going to be able to do it. But the fact of the matter is, were going to bloody well try to do something, not just sit on our asses, saying, Arent we lucky we have the number one show in America. Bullocks to that. Lets get on and do something about it.
As previously announced, no one will get voted off the show during Idol Gives Back. The American Idol results show will air on the following night after Idol Gives Back. When asked if he considered creating some other type of carrot to get viewers to tune in, Lythgoe responded, Yeah of course we did. For my money, this isnt about a carrot. I dont want to cheat the audience here. This is about a wonderful show with incredible talent involved with it, asking you to do something about whats going on in the world, end of story. After that, carrots are just misleading the audience and stink. If we get less of an audience, then so be it. But I want to keep this as something very special, and that is asking people to make a difference.
American Idol: Nigel Lythgoe ‘Idol Gives Back’ Conference Call
http://www.buddytv.com/articles/american-idol/american-idol-nigel-lythgoe-id-18199.aspx
Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer and man behind the curtain for American Idol, held a conference call today to discuss Idol Gives Back, the epic charity event that American Idol will host for the second year one week from today. Idol Gives Back will air on FOX Wednesday, April 9 from 7:30pm to 10pm and feature a boat load of celebrities and performing artists in an effort to provide aid for the world’s needy. Last year’s Idol Gives Back raised $76 million and Nigel hopes that this year’s event brings in even more. He spoke about the show to the media today. These are the highlights from the conference call.
Last night, David Cook had heart palpitations and high blood pressure. He’s fine now. Ellen Degeneres can not do the show because it’s just too much, apparently. Her dropping out means that it’s only going to be more Seacrest. Half of the show will be filmed on Sunday from the Kodak Theater, and Seacrest will now host it. There was going to be a Mariah Carey/Marvin Gaye duet, but they couldn’t get the rights to Marvin, so it’s not going to happen. Nigel says the most difficult thing about putting Idol Gives Back together is just putting together the pieces. It’s a big puzzle. Incorporating all the pieces from the celebrities is hard. The footage is still coming in.
The list of people is huge, and more people who haven’t been been announced yet. Adam Sandler and Drew Carey are two new names I haven’t heard yet that Nigel mentioned. There are six major charities that the proceeds will be going to this year. The celebrities appear because they want to show that everyone is involved, everyone should be involved. The presidential candidates will be on the show as well. Brad Pitt will be there in person. Robbie Williams is also going to be there, and Nigel wants to keep what he’s doing a surprise. It’s the performance he’s most looking forward. Heart will be performing with Fergie. The British Prime Minister is going to appear and make a statement.
I really should, but I can't even imagine how high my premiums would go! LOL!!!
