The servers seem to have been on life support lately.
Makes me wonder if some KOok or DUmmie is DDOSing the server.
Hi, APPLES! :)
Gordon Ramsey = swoon.
About time too.
Michael Johns - Totally awesome!
David A - His best so far and 2nd best tonight
Syesha - Good to move on, weak in low notes
Carly Smithson - Usually one of my favorite, but only OK
David Cook - Had higher expectations, but he'll make it thru
Brooke White - Had higher expectations, she'll make it through
Kristy Lee - Exceeded my expectations, she'll make it another week
Jason Castro - He did OK, but he's fading
Ramiele - Needs to go back to the Philippines!
Predict we'll lose Ramiele tomorrow night.
Brooke singing Jolene. Not as nice as Mindy's, but a little lustier and more rustic. Kinda boring. Wait. Really boring.
David Cook the hair does look better. The scruffy looks good, too. Loved the song. OMG loved it. I want the album. Now.
Ramiele.. boy oh boy. Dolly sure did struggle to find something complementary to say about Rami's talent. "She's tiny like me." Uh, that's about like the Abdul Kiss of Death. The song was crummy and she needs to stop dumpster diving for clothes.
Jason Castro He is a cutie pie. Just a cutie pie. So it's a transvestite song. It's bubbly and cute... just like Jason. But considering the, *ahem*, message, I just have to wonder if Jason had to fight Monchichi's daddy to sing this one.
Carly Car-leee, Car-leee, Car-leee, Caaaaaaarrrrrrr-leeeeeeee. Please don't sing it just because you can (she didn't sing Jolene - just for the record). But with that make-up, she should have sung Elvira. Oh wait... I wonder if we can have an Oak Ridge nite before she gets voted off???
Monchichi great song. (in Frank TV's parody of Charles Barkley's voice) Turrible, turrible, affected performance. Very Vegas / retirement home. I could do without the argyle.
Kristy Lee Finally - a better approach to country. I loved the dress. Kinda crazy but very cool. (must be the turquoise. I'm a sucker for turquoise) Another great song with a message - I bet she beat the snot out of Monchichi's dad. Great job, Kristy!
Syesha zzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz but that said, it could have been horrible. Like a cat with a tail under the rocking chair. It wasn't horrible.
Hotness I'm distracted by that bit of purple fabric around his neck. Does that count as a tie? or a cravat maybe. Ascot. Could have been a good song, but I think the accompaniment killed it. Not a good night for the Hotness.
Top 3: David Cook, Kristy Lee (surprise), and Jason. Bottom 3: Brooke, Syesha (or maybe Carly), and Ramiele. Ramiele is gonners.
Sincere condolences to Elliott and to all of Claudette’s family on the loss of their brave and beautiful mother.
To you, too, misterrob.
May she rest in peace.
Spoke too soon :-/
It was getting pretty dicey for a while...
LOL! At least it was working for the hour that Idol was on :)
One observation - Contrary to what he says, Simon hates country music and he took an extra dose of butt-head medicine tonight.
Now on to my rankings :
1. Michael Johns - It's all wrong, but It's alright - His best performance of the year for me. I loved his bluesy throaty growl on this song. Absolutely fantastic.
2. Carly Smithson - Here You Come Again - Carly finally lost the Psycho Killer Bunny From Outer Space DEATH STARE and actually cam across as likeable tonight. Add to that what was by far her best vocal performance of the year, and she is back to the top of my list. While I have liked a couple of her performances, this is the first time i have LIKED Carly. This was a vocal tour de force.
3. Kristy Lee Cook - Coat of Many Colors - OK, let's be fair, country music is her wheelhouse, and as expected Kristy Lee hit a home run. This was her best performance of the year and rounds out the three break out performances of the night. Next week she will be back to ho hum Kristy, but for this one week she was a star.
4. Brooke White - Jolene - I personally thought this was a great heartfelt rendition of this Dolly classic. It was nothing breathtaking, but Brooke showed the depth of her vocals and the breadth of her talent.
5. David Cook - Little Sparrow - I actually liked his arrangement of the song and while it only gets fifth in my ranking, I would buy this song if it was released as a single.
6. David Archuletta - Smokey Mountain Memories - OK, I probably have Monchichi rated lower than most. Yes, he has a fantastic voice, YES he sounded great, but for me it was "another week, another heart felt ballad - YAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
7. Syesha Mercado - I will Always love You - As soon as I heard this choice I knew she was going to take on Whitney and she was going to get gutted by the judges. Syesha really does have a fabulous voice, but she is not a BIG NOTE SINGER, and she pales in comparison to Whitney, Mariah etc. She was fabulous the first two thirds of this song, then she tried to match Whitney and failed miserably.
8. Jason Castro - Traveling Through - I think I have seen this performance before. Like every single week when Jason sings. Nice voice, nice folksy feel, nothing memorable.
9. Ramiele Malubay - Do I ever Cross your Mind - Ramiele has been a huge disappointment for me. She has such a big voice, but refuses to use it. Again, just like Jason, she sounded nice and smooth, but it was nothing memorable.
Bottom Three - Should be and Will be - Ramiele, Jason, Syesha. All three are very good, but they have not stepped it up or stood out. Ramiele is my pick for vote off, but Syesha has shown a lot of voting weakness and could be in huge trouble. Jason, I think, has just enough TWEEN girl support to pull through for another week or two.
Me! It's been great so far.
I agree...all the kids were “up” tonight and doing their best.
Except Syesha. She just always misses hitting the biggest and best parts of the songs head-on. She really is a mediocre talent, esp. compared with the others tonight.
Bye, bye, Syesha!!
The ol' server problem. A freepathon can't be far behind ;)
LOL!
She might have thought the dreads would attach to her wig, like velcro.
LOL!
I like the way you write
I know.... he just threw a piece of chicken!
This is a classic start.
Have you ever watched Gordon’s Kitchen Nightmares on BBCA - he’s like night and day when dealing with other Brits as compared with us Yanks.
LOL!
