We all felt that way...I guess this is a typical white person thread. How’s your search going?

Maybe Monchichi got a lot of negative feedback (more negative that Idol is comfortable with) and they arranged for a call so he could "clarify" his song choice. That's exactly what I think transpired.

Speaking of Obama--he was in my state today. I couldn't watch the local news. It was an Obama love fest.
George Clooney and Renee Zelwigger were also here today, promoting Leatherheads. (It was filmed in NC).
And tomorrow we get Cankles herself. Hillary Clinton.
It's like we're in some liberal vortex :-/

Oh, lucky you! Any sightings of the Breck Girl? You didn't miss much...from the clips I saw of his town hall meeting, we was stammering and stumbling and boring as usual.

We liked him in our house. While he didn’t put up many top tier performances he was a really likable guy.
Bad song choices and some wierd arrangements.
He made the tour though and that’s worth close to $200K when it’s all said and done. This is a good bunch to hang out with so he’ll definitely grow from the whole experience.

Hi, Wolfstar :)
will never forget those clips of her performing so badly before an adoring east Asian crowd.
LOL! That crowd was apparently starved for entertainment :)
Camile Velasco--that's who it was.
A name we'll likely never hear again :)

They make tens of millions or more every year. They could each chip in a mil and do their "giving back" without bothering us. Exactly. I'm all for accumulating weatlth, but it bothers me when they make us feel guilty for not "giving".
The Idol telethon is more about ratings anyway.

That phone call to Monchichi was soooo rigged.
On another topic...my daughter was visiting this week and watched the end of the show last night with us. I asked her WHY did Michael Jackson write a song for Billy Jean King. She thought that was hysterical—then had to explain to me the background of that song!
Oh the humanity of the generation gap!

That's exactly what I think transpired. The more I think about it, I agree.
Up until tonight, all of the call-in questions have been silly time-wasting fluff.
But this question to Monchichi was the first one that had any weight. And the caller sounded unusually calm too.
Plant.

Well, I *am of that certain era... :-)
Mark Ballas is her pro? OMG - he must be the son of Corky and Shirley Ballas! I was working at the NYC USBC in 1984, running scores, the first year I think they danced together, when she was still Shirley Stopford. I remember when she and Sammy used to just tear it up. That was one of the first years the more modern, flashy, fast Latin dance style really hit the floor.
As I remember, Corky had been the amateur in their pro-am pairings, they fell in love, and voila! There’s Mark! They seem like sweet people. Ahhh... I almost feel like his godmother...

What was that you were saying about "two America's", Senator?
