There’s so much knowledge being lost as our older folks die. Thank you for doing all this!<<<

Yes, there is much valuable information that dies each day.

This thread is the book that I planned for years.

They say you can lead a horse to water, but that you cannot force him to drink.

That is this thread, thoughts, some will be used and others will not.

Then there are other little things to know, some are surprising and others a more simple “Why didn’t I think of that?”

The salve recipes that I just posted, when a soap maker shared hers with me, a Creosote salve, good for several purposes, healing, I used it and was happy.

Then, one day my hair had just been washed and I had just applied my salve and thought ‘so, try it’, used a tiny amount on my wet hair and it worked, long hair came untangled as if by magic.

When I told Claudia, she tried it on her daughter’s kinky, long and difficult hair and it worked.

I suspect that we had just reinvented the ‘duck tail wax’ of the 1950’s that the guys used to make their hair form a ‘ducktail’ in the back, one of my brothers did that.

Claudia’s recipe, was about the same as the ones that I have posted.

And then too, after a few years, we under stand things.

Over 40 years ago, my 3 year old niece, a sweet and loving child became a raging maniac, when you washed her hair.

After her tonsils were removed, she was normal and had long lovely hair all her life.

Now that I am on the oxygen generator, to breathe, when I am forced to have my hair washed, I want to fight, yes, I mean fight.

As I can’t breathe in wet air.....or when it rains.

So now I understand why Angela fought to keep her head dry.

There are things to learn, if we will learn them.

Further note to parents: Diana had rushed Angela to the hospital several times, for a locked bladder, a very sick child.

Then came the day that she got sick when in my care, I took her to the Emergency room and a kind Iranian doctor was assigned to treat her.

He looked in her throat, and I asked, what he was doing, as she had a bladder problem.

He informed me that she had bad tonsils, take an antibiotic and get them out, that would end the bladder infections.

And when they were gone, so were her bladder problems.

No wonder you are living in the desert! I would imagine the dryness is good for you, although you can't garden up there.

I feel like we've been friends for a long time. I hope you are feeling better today.
