The Weekend YouTube Music Video Thread

Hi all! TGIF! It’s the Weekend! Remember that this Sunday starts Daylight Savings Time – Spring Ahead! Whoo Whoo!

First of all, I lost my link to the “This Day in Music History” – it’s no longer available and I haven’t found a good replacement yet.

I’ve also been absent for the last few weeks. Sorry but I my cable modem went on the fritz and then I’ve been super crazy busy looking for a new job (I can send my resume to anyone who is interested) and I’ve also been helping out my niece and her husband who have an 11 month old baby and are now expecting again within the next month – triplets!

Anyway, I heard this song on the radio and I wanted to share it – beautiful and haunting. I hope you all like it as much as I did.

This is a rough draft of an art video that I've done, that will be animated in the near future. It represents the life of Orson Welles and is quite psychedelic for black and white. Basically, Mr. Kane falls into his own subconscious mind represented by the subterranean sewer systems of Vienna. God only knows what he finds down there.

The Incomparable Mr. Kane

Suite Judy Blue Eyes by CSN saved me from going AWOL in BCT (Fall '69).Standing in the chow line at about 0600...cold as hell...depressed like I've never been depressed before (or since)....and I hear that song come blaring from a radio playing in the mess hall.It boosted my spirits at that moment so much that thoughts of desertion (*real* thoughts) left me.

I guess I should send them a note thanking them for saving me from a few years at Levenworth.

When I was in junior high school band and orchestra in the mid 70’s, we learned to play this – “Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4.”

I’m sure we played it very badly, but now that I look back, our music teacher was really cool in exposing us to this and encouraging us to try.

I can still remember playing the bass riff on my cello.

GSC, that is an uplifting story to go with the very uplifting song. It always inspires me.

I think it even makes me feel OK to be depressed, almost like a reality check on the commonality of the human condition.
